  2. 2. Global Turbulent EquiPartition (TEP) in Tokamak Plasma

    Author : Igor A. Ivonin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Astronomy; turbulent plasma; TEP; scaling laws; transport barrier; tokamak; Astronomi; Astronomy and astrophysics; Astronomi och astrofysik; Space and Plasma Physics; rymd- och plasmafysik;

    Abstract : We studied analytically and numerically the establishment of global turbulent equipartition (TEP) of magnetised electrons in a tokamak plasma. This allows us to investigate self-consistently the inhomogeneous distributions of the plasma density, the electron and the ion temperatures, the generation of radial electric field and the poloidal and the toroidal rotation in the turbulent tokamak plasma. 3. 3. Experimental measurements of water mist systems and implications for modelling in CFD

    Author : Bjarne Husted; Avdelningen för Brandteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Teknik; Technological sciences; fire suppression; CFD; FDS; fire safety engineering; PDA; water mist; PIV;

    Abstract : The use of water mist for fire extinguishment has increased rapidly in recent years. The main reason is the abandonment of halon-based extinguishing systems in favour of environmentally friendlier systems. Furthermore the use of water mist systems has spread from mainly marine applications to also include the protection of buildings. READ MORE

  5. 5. Development of LPP-Burner for Industrial Gas Turbine Application

    Author : Jonas Holmborn; Strömningsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Thermal engineering; Dry Low Emission DLE ; Lean Partially Premix LPP ; Combustion; Gas Turbine; Burner; applied thermodynamics; Termisk teknik; termodynamik;

    Abstract : This thesis reports the work done in the development of a modified Lean Premix Prevaporised (LPP) burner for the use in Alstom Power Sweden’s industrial gas turbines. Incentive for the development of the modified burner have been the need to increase the flame stability over the operating range for the burner, especially for the liquid fuel but also the gaseous fuel operation.
