    Abstract : In recent decades, established political parties across Europe have become increasingly challenged by a new party family: the radical right. In terms of how mainstream parties respond to this challenge, Sweden has been a puzzling case both in a comparative European perspective and in light of established theories of party competition. 3. 3. Helicobacter pylori associated effects on inflammatory radical formation and angiotensin II receptors in the stomach

    Author : Anders Elfvin; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : Helicobacter pylori; Mongolian gerbil; gastric adenocarcinoma; nitro-radical; iNOS; nitric oxide; nitrotyrosine; oxy-radical; myeloperoxidase; angiotensin II; AT1R; AT2R;

    Abstract : Helicobacter pylori infection of the stomach always results in mucosal inflammation and a marked systemic immune response. Despite the profound host defence reactions the bacterium avoids elimination and persists in the mucosa. This results in chronic inflammation and an increased risk for peptic ulcers and adenocarcinoma. READ MORE

  4. 4. Radical Cyclization Approaches to Pyrrolidines

    Author : Magnus Beşev; Troels Skrydstrup; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic chemistry; Radical cyclization; diastereselectivity; pyrrolidine; pyrroline; thiazoline; aziridine; Organisk kemi; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : Five-membered rings are readily prepared by 5-exo-trig radical cyclization. This thesis is concerned with novel methodology for pyrrolidine synthesis. We have synthesised selenium containing radical precursors from aziridines and α-phenylseleno ketones, and cyclized them to 2,4- and 3,4-disubstituted pyrrolidines. READ MORE

  5. 5. Making Radical Cations Live Longer

    Author : Ola Persson; Kemisk fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; spin trapping.; 3-hexafluoropropan-2-ol; 3; 1; thallium III -based oxidants; Radical cations; electron paramagnetic resonance; Physics; Fysik; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Abstract : The acid-catalyzed rearrangement of 1,4,5,8-tetramethylnaphthalene was used to determine the acidity of media used for EPR spectral studies of radical cations. The radical cations of methyl-substituted naphthalenes were shown to undergo dimerization reactions. READ MORE
