  1. 1. Episodes in talk : Constructing coherence in multiparty conversation

    Author : Natascha Korolija; Per Linell; Kerstin Bergqvist; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : Coherence; episode; context; multiparty conversation; activity type; communicative impairments; radio talk; dinner conversation; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : This study contributes to an understanding of how coherence can be assigned or constructed by participants in authentic multiparty conversational interaction. Coherence is analysed as a type of organisation relevant for the making of meaning in situated interaction, but also in retrospect from a third party's (or analyst's) perspective; it is both constructed and reconstructed. 2. 2. Public talk on personal troubles : A study on interaction in radio counselling

    Author : Nataliya Thell; Socialhögskolan; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; radio counselling; institutional interaction; psychotherapy; troubles talk; media discourse; conversation analysis; ethnomethodology; radiorådgivning; institutionellt samtal; psykoterapi; samtal om personliga bekymmer; mediediskurs; samtalsanalys; etnometodologi;

    Abstract : The dissertation examines how personal troubles are talked about in an encounter with a professional on the public arena of radio broadcasting, where the professional has to meet the challenge of making professional advice not only useful for the person seeking help, but also relevant or interesting for the radio audience. The study explores the dynamic process of shaping an understanding of problematic experiences as it unfolds in the interactions on the radio and with radio listeners. READ MORE

  3. 3. On Adjacent Channel Interference-Aware Radio Resource Management for Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication

    Author : Anver Hisham Unnichiriyath Siddique; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; scheduling; adjacent channel interference ACI ; vehicle-to- vehicle V2V ; channel state information CSI ; convex optimization; LTE; vehicle-to-everything V2X ; combinatorial optimization; traffic efficiency; 3GPP; medium access control MAC ; power control; radio resource management RRM ;

    Abstract : Safety applications play an essential role in supporting traffic safety and efficiency in next generation vehicular networks. Typical safety applications require vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication with high reliability and low latency. READ MORE

  4. 4. Silicon device substrate and channel characteristics influenced by interface properties

    Author : Mikael Johansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; channel; attenuation; zro2; interface; traps; semi-insulating; high-k; mos; cross-talk; hfo2;

    Abstract : This thesis is divided in two parts, one dealing with the depleted Si/Si structure, which is a substrate behaving as a semi-insulating material intended for radio-frequency applications and the other concerning high-k gate dielectrics (dielectrics with high dielectric constant) as the replacement for silicon dioxide as MOS gate dielectric.High frequency applications of CMOS integrated circuits, to lower cost, achieve higher performance and richer functionality, depends partly on the possibility to decrease the substrate coupling between different parts of the circuit. 5. 5. The Environment, Education, and Media: Essays in Applied Microeconomics : Essays in Applied Microeconomics

    Author : Erik Sebastiaan Merkus; Handelshögskolan i Stockholm; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : This doctoral thesis in Economics consists of four chapters. In chapter 1, I study the economic consequences of environmental enforcement. In the Brazilian Amazon, I study how the enforcement of anti-deforestation policies affect agricultural and economic outcomes. READ MORE
