1. Dietary L-Tryptophan Suppresses Aggression and Stress Responsiveness in Juvenile Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) : The Role of Brain Serotonin and Plasma Melatonin
Abstract : Juvenile rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) fed L-tryptophan (TRP) supplemented feed for 7 days show a suppression of aggressive behaviour along with a reduction in post-stress plasma cortisol levels. However, 3 days of elevated dietary TRP does not have any effects on either aggressive behaviour or post-stress plasma cortisol levels. READ MORE

2. Stress Coping Strategies in Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)
Abstract : Animals show a great variety in physiological and behavioural responses to stressors. These responses are often bimodally distributed within populations and show consistency on an individual level over time and across situations, which in terrestrial vertebrates have been identified as proactive and reactive stress coping strategies. 3. Lipid Composition and Deterioration in Light and Dark Muscle of Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)
Abstract : Nutritionally valuable lipids, including lipid classes and their fatty acids in light and dark muscle, have been determined and analyzed in farmed rainbow trout. Dark muscle was found to have a higher content of total lipids than light muscle, 7.3 wt% versus 3.0 wt%, which was mostly accounted for by neutral lipids, especially triacylglycerols. READ MORE

5. Studies of immunoglobulin light chains in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss): new insight into the evolution of immunoglobulin genes
Abstract : In this thesis, the structure and the expression of immunoglobulin (Ig) light chain genes were studied in rainbow trout and including an evolutionary perspective. A novel Ig light chain locus (IgL2) was identified and characterized. READ MORE
