11. Reinforcement Learning and Optimal Adaptive Control for Structured Dynamical Systems
Abstract : In this thesis, we study the related problems of reinforcement learning and optimal adaptive control, specialized to specific classes of stochastic and structured dynamical systems. By stochastic, we mean systems that are unknown to the decision maker and evolve according to some probabilistic law. READ MORE

12. Backstepping and control allocation with applications to flight control
Abstract : In this thesis we study a number of nonlinear control problems motivated by their appearance in flight control. The results are presented in a general framework and can also be applied to other areas. The two main topics are backstepping and control allocation. READ MORE

13. On LQG-Optimal Event-Based Sampling
Abstract : Event-based control is a promising concept for the design of resource-efficient feedback systems, where events such as sampling, actuation, and data transmissions are triggered reactively based on monitored control performance rather than a periodic timer. In this thesis, we investigate how sampling and communication events should be triggered to fully exploit the potential of event-based control based on the classic linear–quadratic–Gaussian (LQG) framework. 14. Control over the Cloud : Offloading, Elastic Computing, and Predictive Control
Abstract : The thesis studies the use of cloud native software and platforms to implement critical closed loop control. It considers technologies that provide low latency and reliable wireless communication, in terms of edge clouds and massive MIMO, but also approaches industrial IoT and the services of a distributed cloud, as an extension of commercial-of-the-shelf software and systems. 15. Anti-windup and Control of Systems with Multiple Input Saturations : Tools, Solutions and Case Studies
Abstract : Control of linear systems with saturating actuators are considered and anti-windup compensators for multiple-input multiple-output systems, and robust, almost time-optimal controllers for double integrators with input amplitude saturations, are proposed.Windup effects are defined and anti-windup compensators aiming at minimizing the windup effects are proposed.
