  1. 1. On the role of the retinoblastoma tumor suppressor gene in hematopoietic differentiation

    Author : Gösta Bergh; Helsingborg Kliniska Vetenskaper; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; antisense; leukemia; cell cycle; differentiation; hematopoiesis; p16; p53; tumor suppressor genes; RB; oligonucleotides; Haematology; extracellular fluids; Hematologi; extracellulära vätskor;

    Abstract : The aim of this study was to investigate the role of some tumor suppressor gene products (with emphasis on the retinoblastoma suppressor gene product) in the regulation of differentiation and proliferation in leukemic and normal hematopoietic cells. For this purpose, the expression of the tumor suppressor genes RB, p53 and p16 were artificially altered. READ MORE

  2. 2. Hodgkin Lymphoma : Studies of Advanced Stages, Relapses and the Relation to Non-Hodgkin Lymphomas

    Author : Rose-Marie Amini; Volker Diehl; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Oncology; Hodgkin lymphoma; advanced stages; relapse; p53; EBV; Rb; cell line; Onkologi; Oncology; Onkologi; Oncology; onkologi;

    Abstract : The relationship between Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) is not entirely elucidated and a clonal relation may be present more often than previously believed. Mechanisms of tumour progression and resistance to therapy are poorly understood.Between 1974 and 1994 all individuals in Sweden with both HL and NHL were identified. READ MORE

  3. 3. Studies on Domain Wall Properties andDynamics in KTiOPO4 and Rb-doped KTiOPO4

    Author : Gustav Lindgren; Carlota Canalias; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : KTiOPO4 (KTP) and Rb-doped KTP (RKTP) are two of the most attractive nonlinear opticalmaterials for engineering of periodically poled domain structures, commonly used as frequencyconversiondevices for laser radiation via the quasi-phase matching (QPM) technique. Thesematerials have excellent non-linearity, wide transparency windows and high resistance to opticaldamage. READ MORE

  4. 4. Advanced nano- and microdomain engineering of Rb-doped KTiOPO4 for nonlinear optical applications

    Author : Charlotte Liljestrand; Carlota Canalias; Sunao Kurimura; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; KTiOPO4; nonlinear optics; MOPO; quasi-phase matching; SHG; ferroelectrics; domain structuring; periodic poling; Fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Fine-pitch ferroelectric domain gratings are extensively used for generation of light in the visible and near-infrared spectral regions through quasi-phase matched (QPM) frequency conversion. Sub-μm QPM devices enables demonstration of nonlinear optics with counterpropagating waves, a field of nonlinear optics which remains sparsely explored due to the difficulty of fabricatinghigh quality gratings. 5. 5. Energy scaling of infrared nanosecond optical parametric oscillators and amplifiers based on Rb:KTiOPO4

    Author : Riaan Stuart Coetzee; Valdas Pasiskevicius; Gunnar Rustad; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : High-energy, narrowband, nanosecond pulsed mid-infrared sources centred on 2 μm are requiredin applications in remote sensing, standoff detection and pollution monitoring using LIDARs.Currently, space-borne LIDAR missions are under development by major space agencies aroundthe world for active measurements of the atmospheric gas constituents and their dynamics.
