  1. 1. CO2 separation using ionic liquid-based absorbents : thermodynamics and kinetics

    Author : Yifeng Chen; Xiaoyan Ji; Xiaohua Lu; Marcus Öhman; Congmin Wang; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Ionic liquids; carbon dioxide; thermodynamics; kinetics; Energiteknik; Energy Engineering;

    Abstract : Ionic liquids (ILs) have shown great potential to be used as absorbents for CO2 separation owing to their unique properties such as immeasurably low vapour pressure, high thermal stability, high CO2 affinity, and tunable structure. A huge amount of researches have been carried out, and most of them focused on developing novel ILs for CO2 separation. READ MORE

  2. 2. Process modeling of semibatch reaction crystallization

    Author : Marie Ståhl; Åke Rasmuson; Hermann J.M. Kramer; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Reaction crystallization; benzoic acid; nucleation; growth; kinetics; growth rate dispersion; Chemical physics; Kemisk fysik;

    Abstract : This thesis aims at increasing the fundamental understanding of reaction crystallization by modeling, simulations and parameter estimation. Benzoic acid is used as the model compound. READ MORE

  3. 3. Lipase chemoselectivity - kinetics and applications

    Author : Cecilia Hedfors; Karl Hult; Mats Martinelle; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Candida antarctica lipase B; Rhizomucor miehei lipase; active site titration; kinetics; chemoselectivity; thiol; alcohol; thiol-functionalized polyesters; Biochemistry; Biokemi;

    Abstract :   A chemoselective catalyst is preferred in a chemical reaction where protecting groups otherwise are needed. The two lipases Candida antarctica lipase B and Rhizomucor miehei lipase showed large chemoselectivity ratios, defined as (kcat/KM)OH / (kcat/KM)SH, in a transacylation reaction with ethyl octanoate as acyl donor and hexanol or hexanethiol as acyl acceptor (paper I). 4. 4. Hydrodemetallization of Petroleum - Reaction Kinetics, Activity Decay and Long-life Catalysts

    Author : Fei-Xiang Long; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; catalyst deactivation; large pore catalyst; hydroprocessing; hydrodemetallization; fibrillar alumina support; hydrotreating; kinetics; metal porphyrin; multiresponse parameter estimation; HDM;

    Abstract : Hydrodemetallization (HDM) is an indispensable step in industrial catalytic hydroprocessing of residual oils. To develop improved HDM catalysts and reactors, a detailed knowledge of the reaction mechanisms and kinetics, and a good understanding of the mechanisms and process of the catalyst decaying are very important.
