16. Aspects of Blame : In which the nature of blame, blameworthiness, standing to blame and proportional blame are discussed
Abstract : This thesis discusses what blame is, what it is for an agent to be blameworthy for having performed a certain act or omission, what makes an agent blameworthy for having performed a certain act or omission, whether the idea of standing to blame generalises to blame understood as something privately held, and what it is for blame to be proportionate. It provides original answers to these questions that move the current discussion of blame forward. READ MORE

17. Optimization-based robot grasp synthesis and motion control
Abstract : This thesis investigates the questions of where to grasp and how to grasp a given object with an articulated robotic grasping device. To this end, aspects of grasp synthesis and hand motion planning and control are investigated. READ MORE

18. Synchronous Voltage Reversal Control of Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor
Abstract : Series compensation of transmission lines is an effectiveand cheap method of improving the power transmission systemperformance. Series capacitors virtually reduces the length ofthe line making it easier to keep all parts of the power systemrunning in synchronism and to maintain a constant voltage levelthroughout the system. 19. Power control strategies for renewable energy systems : The inverter's role in future power systems
Abstract : Connecting more non-dispatchable renewable energy sources (RESs) will result in a higher power variability and a lower system inertia when the synchronous generators are replaced by inverter-connected RES. Inverter control can be divided in three categories: grid-following, grid-forming (GFM) and grid-supporting. READ MORE

20. Charge carrier traffic at interfaces in nanoeletronic structures
Abstract : This thesis describes investigations in relation to the search for materials with high dielectric constant, k, for future CMOS transistors. The most elementary quantities to be considered are k-value and energy band offsets between the dielectric and the silicon crystal on which it is deposited. READ MORE
