1. Receiver Front-Ends in CMOS with Ultra-Low Power Consumption
Abstract : Historically, research on radio communication has focused on improving range and data rate. In the last decade, however, there has been an increasing demand for low power and low cost radios that can provide connectivity with small devices around us. READ MORE

2. Methodologies and Tools for the Design and Optimization of Multi-Standard Radio Receivers
Abstract : One of the main challenges posed by 4G wireless communication systems is achieving flexible, programmable multi-standard radio transceivers with maximum hardware share amongst different standards at a minimum power consumption. Evaluating the feasibility and performance of different multi-standard/multi-band radio solutions at an early stage, i. READ MORE

3. Advanced Analog MMICs for mm-wave Communication and Remote Sensing in 0.15µm mHEMT Technology
Abstract : Multi-Gigabit per second wireless communication and atmospheric remote sensing for weather forecasts are new applications in the mm-wave frequency spectra. The High Electron Mobility Transistor is an excellent technology for high frequency mm-wave applications. Its low noise and linear performance makes a 0. READ MORE

4. Analyses of Seismic Wave Conversion in the Crust and Upper Mantle beneath the Baltic Shield
Abstract : Teleseismic data recorded by broad-band seismic stations in the Swedish National Seismic Network (SNSN) have been used in a suite of studies of seismic wave conversion in order to assess the structure of the crust and upper mantle beneath the Baltic Shield. Signals of seismic waves converted between P and S at seismic discontinuities within the Earth carry information on the velocity contrast at the converting interface, on the depth of conversion and on P and S velocities above this depth. 5. Waveform and Receiver Filter Selection for Wideband Radar Applications
Abstract : This thesis concerns the design of transmitter-receiver chains for widebandradar systems. The transmitter side employs one, or several, highly flexiblesignal generators, which are able to generate signals with a large bandwidth. READ MORE
