1. Field Programmable Gate Arrays and Reconfigurable Computing in Automatic Control
Abstract : New combustion engine principles increase the demands on feedback combustion control, at the same time economical considerations currently enforce the usage of low-end control hardware limiting implementation possibilities. Significant development is simultaneously and continuously carried out within the field of Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). READ MORE

2. Supporting the Design of Reconfigurable Production Systems
Abstract : To compete, manufacturing companies need production systems that quickly can respond to changes. To handle change drivers such as volume variations or new product variants, reconfigurability is advocated as a competitive means. READ MORE

3. Reconfigurable Architectures for Embedded Systems
Abstract : Application-specific circuits are used to migrate computer systems from workstations to handheld devices that need real-time performance within the budget for physical size and energy dissipation. However, these circuits are inflexible as any modification requires redesign and refabrication, which is both expensive and time-consuming considering the complexity of recent embedded platforms. 4. Reconfigurable and Wideband Receiver Components for System-on-Chip Millimetre-Wave Radiometer Front-Ends
Abstract : This thesis presents solutions and studies related to the design of reconfigurable and wideband receiver circuits for system-on-chip (SoC) radiometer front-ends within the millimetre-wave (mm-wave) range. Whereas many of today’s mm-wave front-ends are bulky and costly due to having discrete RF components, single-chip receiver modules could potentially result in a wider use for emerging applications such as wireless communication, short range radar and passive imaging security sensors if realised with adequate performances and at a lower cost. 5. Dynamically Reconfigurable Resource Array
Abstract : The goals set by the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors (ITRS) for the consumer portable category, to be realized by 2020, are 1000X improvement in performance with only 40\% increase in power budget and no increase in design team size. To meet these goals, the challenges facing the VLSI community are gaps in architecture efficacy, design productivity and battery capacity. READ MORE
