  1. 21. Oxidation and Reconstructions of Alloy Model Catalysts : Platinum-Rhodium and Palladium-Gold

    Author : Helen Edström; Synkrotronljusfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Alloying; APXPS; Bimetallic Catalysts; Heterogeneous Catalysis; HESXRD; Oxidation; Oxide Formation; Palladium-Gold; Platinum-Rhodium; Surface Reconstruction; Fysicumarkivet A:2023 Edström;

    Abstract : Alloys and bimetallic systems have shown many advantages in heterogeneous catalysis, but the details of their catalytic functions are not always known. For instance, the atomic details about surface reconstructions under catalytic reaction conditions, or which phases that are high-active or low-active. READ MORE

  2. 22. Retreat pattern and dynamics of glaciers and ice sheets: reconstructions based on meltwater features

    Author : Martin Margold; Krister Jansson; Arjen Stroeven; Johan Kleman; Karin Helmens; Chris Stokes; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Palaeoglaciology; Cordilleran Ice Sheet; deglaciation; glacial meltwater features; glacial lake; Physical Geography; naturgeografi;

    Abstract : Glaciers and ice sheets covered extensive areas in the Northern Hemisphere during the last glacial period. Subsequently to the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM), they retreated rapidly and, except for Greenland and some other ice caps and glaciers, they vanished after the last glacial termination. READ MORE

  3. 23. Retreat pattern and dynamics of glaciers and ice sheets: reconstructions based on meltwater features

    Author : Martin Margold; Krister Jansson; Clas Hättestrand; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The pattern of ice marginal retreat during the last deglaciation has, thus far, most frequently been reconstructed using absolute dating methods and landform record. In reconstructions using landform record, meltwater system has most often been neglected. This is predominantly a consequence of the smaller scale of meltwater features. READ MORE

  4. 24. Archaeological and Historical Reconstructions of the Foraging and Farming Communities of the Lower Zambezi : From the mid Holocene to the second Millennium AD

    Author : Hilário Madiquida; Paul Sinclair; Karl-Johan Lindholm; Dr Munyaradzi Manyanga; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Mozambique; Zambezi Valley; Late Stone Age; Early Farming Communities; Long-distance trade; Afro-Portuguese; Written sources; Archaeology; Historical Ecology; Archaeology; Arkeologi;

    Abstract : In this thesis I combine new archaeological surveys and excavations together with the historical and ethnographic sources, to construct a long term settlement history and historical ecology of the lower Zambezi River valley and delta region, in Mozambique. The evidence presented indicates that people have settled in the area since the Late Stone Age, in total eight new archaeological sites have been located in archaeological surveys. READ MORE

  5. 25. Palaeoenvironmental changes in the northern boreal zone of Finland: local versus regional drivers

    Author : Shyhrete Shala; Karin H. Helmens; Christian Bigler; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Palaeolimnology; Palaeoecology; Biological assemblages; Sediment geochemistry; Regional drivers; Local drivers; Quantitative temperature reconstructions; Transfer-functions; Holocene; MIS 5d-c; Northern boreal zone; NE Finland; kvartärgeologi; Quaternary Geology;

    Abstract : Multiple proxies derived from the Lake Loitsana sediment sequence (NE Finland) are employed to determine the timing of deglaciation, characterise an early Holocene proglacial lake stage and reconstruct Holocene lake development. Local-scale processes causing shifts in biological assemblages are identified and the most likely Holocene mean July air temperature (Tjul) development is assessed. READ MORE
