1. Optical spectroscopy of InGaAs quantum dots
Abstract : The work presented in this thesis deals with optical studies of semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) in the InGaAs material system. It is shown that for self-assembled InAs QDs, the interaction with the surrounding GaAs barrier and the InAs wetting layer (WL) in particular, has a very large impact on their optical properties. 2. Spectroscopic studies of III-V semiconductors in two, one and zero dimensions
Abstract : In this thesis, spectroscopic studies of quantum wells (QWs), quantum wires (QWRs) and quantum dots (QDs) in III-V semiconductors are presented. The electronic structure of these low-dimensional structures have been studied by absorption, photocurrent, electroreflectance, photoluminescence (PL), and photoluminescence excitation (PLE) spectroscopy. 3. Optical Properties of Single Silicon Quantum Dots
Abstract : For over 60 years silicon (Si) has dominated the semiconductor microelectronics industry mainly due to its abundance and good electrical and material properties. The advanced processing technology of Si has made it the workhorse for photovoltaics industry as well. READ MORE

4. Defects and crystallinity control of perovskite films for light-emitting diodes
Abstract : Metal halide perovskites are promising materials for the fabrication of cost-effective and highperformance light-emitting diodes (LEDs), due to their solution processability, high photoluminescence quantum efficiencies (PLQEs) and excellent charge transport properties. Importantly, perovskite LEDs show ultra-pure emission color, which is better than that of the state-of-the-art quantum dot LEDs (QLEDs) and organic LEDs (OLEDs), demonstrating a bright application potential for realizing vivid natural colors display in the future. 5. Technology and properties of InP-based photonic crystal structures and devices
Abstract : Photonic crystals (PhCs) are periodic dielectric structures that exhibit a photonic band gap; a range of wavelengths for which light propagation is forbidden. 2D PhCs exhibit most of the properties as their three dimension counterparts with a compatibility with standard semiconductor processing techniques such as epitaxial growth, electron beam lithography, Plasma deposition/etching and electromechanical lapping/polishing.
