16. Supermarket food waste : prevention and management with the focus on reduced waste for reduced carbon footprint
Abstract : Food waste occurs along the entire food supply chain and gives rise to great financial losses and waste of natural resources. The retail stage of the supply chain contributes significant masses of waste. Causes of this waste need to be identified before potential waste reduction measures can be designed, tested and evaluated. READ MORE

17. Parameter Estimation for Multisensor Signal Processing : Reduced Rank Regression, Array Processing and MIMO Communications
Abstract : This thesis deals with three estimation problems motivated by spatial signal processing using arrays of sensors. All three problems are approached using tools from estimation theory, including asymptotical analysis of performance and Cramér-Rao lower bound; Monte Carlo methods are used to evaluate small sample performance. 18. Coral reefs in a human-dominated environment : implications of altered disturbance regimes and reduced resilience
Abstract : Coral reefs are facing an "Anthropocene " era where humans have advanced from a minor species with limited influence on coral reefs to a major source of disturbance. Disturbance arriving from human influences may not only interact with each other, but also with natural disturbance regimes, leading to synergistic effects. READ MORE

19. Indirect effects of river regulation : consequences for landbirds of reduced numbers of aquatic insects
READ MORE

20. The relationship between reduced renal function and cardiovascular disease
Abstract : This thesis examines the relationship between measures of renal function and cardiovascular disease (CVD) in patients with hypertension (the NORDIL study) and in the healthy population (Malmö Diet and Cancer Study, MDC) and whether antihypertensive treatment response and the risk of CVD is affected by genetic variation of a regulator of the renal amiloroide sensitive sodium channel (NORDIL). In study 1 we tested creatinine, estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) with Cockroft-Gault (CG) and the MDRD equations and also microalbuminuria (MA) as predictors of CVD, stroke and CVD death.
