  1. 16. Microcontact Printing for Protein Microarray Applications

    Author : Ye Zhou; Per Claesson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : This thesis introduces the microcontact printing (μCP) method to pattern and tailor the desired substrates for protein microarray applications. The ink molecules used to create the patterns, hydrophobic barriers, are tetraalkyl ammonium salt, polycationic polymers and oligo(ethylene glycol)-terminated self-assembled monolayers. READ MORE

  2. 17. Surface structure and catalytic activity of Pd and Fe oxide surfaces and thin films

    Author : Mikhail Shipilin; Synkrotronljusfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Surface X-ray diffraction SXRD ; Heterogeneous catalysis; Pd; PdO; Fe; FeO; Thin films; Fysicumarkivet A:2016:Shipilin;

    Abstract : The present work is devoted to atomic scale structural studies of the surfaces of model heterogeneous catalysts relevant to oxidation reactions. A novel approach using high-energy surface X-ray diffraction combined with mass-spectrometry measurements is employed to perform in situ structural characterization of Pd(100) and Pd(553) single crystal surfaces acting as catalysts in the process of CO oxidation under semirealistic conditions. 3. 18. On the Chemical Romance Between Gas and Surface, and how to Illuminate it

    Author : Sebastian Pfaff; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; planar laser-induced fluorescence; surface optical reflectance; model catalysis; palladium; polycrystal; CO oxidation; heterogeneous catalysis; Fysicumarkivet A:2022:Pfaff;

    Abstract : An increasing number of catalysis experiments are conducted at higher pressures to bridge the pressure gap. This means that we need to measure not only the sample surface but also the gas phase around the sample with spatial resolution. READ MORE

  4. 19. Adsorption of Organic Phosphines and Thiols on Metal Surfaces

    Author : Hans Kariis; Per Persson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : In this thesis investigations of the adsorption of small molecules on metal surfaces are presented. Several surface sensitive analytical methods are used in the studies.Surface modification of gold is a field in which an enormous amount of work has been published in recent years. READ MORE

  5. 20. Atmospheric corrosion of copper and copper-based alloys in architecture : from native surface oxides to fully developed patinas

    Author : Tingru Chang; Inger Odnevall Wallinder; Tomas Prošek; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : Copper and copper-based alloys are commonly used in both ancient and modern architecture. This requires an in-depth fundamental and applied understanding on their atmospheric corrosion behavior at different climatic, environmental and pollutant levels and how these parameters influence e.g. READ MORE
