  1. 1. Synthetic studies of rigid tetracyclic oxanorbornanes. Regioselective reductive Heck arylation of a tetracyclic scaffold

    University dissertation from Organic Chemistry, Lund University

    Author : Andreas Wållberg; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2000]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic chemistry; oxanorbornane; rigid; Heck-reaction; regioselective; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : Rigid or conformationally restricted compounds are intresting from a pharmacological point of view since they do not have to pay the entropy penalty paid by more flexible molecules in binding to e.g. a protein. READ MORE

  2. 2. Regioselective Heck Coupling Reactions Focus on Green Chemistry

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Karl S. A. Vallin; Uppsala universitet.; [2003]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Farmaceutisk kemi; PHARMACY Pharmaceutical chemistry; FARMACI Farmaceutisk kemi; Medicinal Chemistry; läkemedelskemi;

    Abstract : Carbon-carbon bond formation reactions are among the most important processes in chemistry, as they represent key steps in the synthesis of more complex molecules from simple precursors. This thesis describes mainly the development of novel regioselective applications of the mild and versatile palladium-catalyzed carbon-carbon coupling method, commonly known as the Heck reaction. 3. 3. A Regio- and Stereodivergent Route to All Isomers of vic-Amino Alcohols

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Kemi

    Author : Berit Olofsson; KTH.; [2002]
    Keywords : amino alcohols; vinylepoxides; vinylaziridines; oxazolines; oxazolidinones; ring-opening; regioselective; diastereoselective; sphingosine; configuration; NMR spectroscopy;

    Abstract : The first part of this thesis describes a synthetic strategythat provides all eight possible isomers of a given vic-aminoalcohol starting from vinylepoxides. The value of a generalroute is evident, as several isomers are needed ininvestigations of structure-activity relationships forpharmacologically active derivatives, and for optimizing theperformance of chiral ligands containing the amino alcoholmoiety. 4. 4. Heck Reactions with Aryl Chlorides Studies of Regio- and Stereoselectivity

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Gopal K. Datta; Uppsala universitet.; [2008]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Heck reaction; aryl chloride; vinyl ether; regioselective; stereoselective; palladium; chelation control; microwave; PHARMACY Pharmaceutical chemistry; FARMACI Farmaceutisk kemi;

    Abstract : Homogeneous palladium-catalyzed Heck vinylation of aryl chlorides was investigated under air using Herrmann’s palladacycle and the P(t-Bu)3-liberating salt [(t-Bu)3PH]BF4. Based on the results, controlled microwave heating was utilized to accelerate model Heck reactions with aryl chlorides down to 30 min employing an electron-poor olefin and a mixture of an ionic liquid and 1,4-dioxane as solvent.
