  1. 1. Improved high velocity cold copaction processing polymer powder to high performance parts

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH

    Author : Bruska Azhdar; KTH.; [2005]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; high-velocity compaction; powder polymers; polyamide-11; relaxation assist; compactibility; relative green density; morphology; pull-out; springback; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry Organic chemistry Polymer chemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi Organisk kemi Polymerkemi;

    Abstract : A uniaxial High-Velocity Compaction (HVC) process for polymer powder using a cylindrical, hardened steel die and a new technique with relaxation assist was tested with a focus on the compactibility characteristics and surface morphology of the compacted materials using various heights of relaxation assist device with different compacting profiles.Relaxation assist device was presented as a new technique to reduce springback, pull-out phenomenon and to improve the compaction process. 2. 2. Combining X-ray and 3D scanning of logs

    University dissertation from Luleå : Luleå tekniska universitet

    Author : Johan Skog; Luleå tekniska universitet.; RISE.; [2009]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Träteknik; Wood Technology; Manufacturing engineering and work sciences - Manufacturing engineering; Produktion och arbetsvetenskap - Produktionsteknik;

    Abstract : In Scandinavia, sawlogs are typically sorted upon arrival at the sawmill. Presorting of sawlogs according to dimension, e.g., using an optical three-dimensional (3D) scanner, is used to make the sawing process more efficient. READ MORE

    Abstract : Popular Abstract in Swedish Fåglar har fascinerat människor i århundraden. Färgen på deras fjädrar, deras flyghöjd och deras förmåga att fånga små byten har skapat den allmänna uppfattningen att fåglar har en fantastisk syn. READ MORE

  4. 4. Macromolecular design UV-curable thiol-ene networks based on renewable resources

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH Royal Institute of Technology

    Author : Mauro Claudino; KTH.; [2013]

    Abstract : Plant oils and terpenes are ubiquitous natural renewable compounds. The double bonds contained in most of these monomers can be utilized via the photo-induced free-radical thiol–ene reaction to create novel bio-derived polymer thermosets representing a valuable ‘green’ alternative to petrochemical olefins and resulting synthetic plastic materials.
