  2. 2. On User Involvement in Research on Ageing and Health

    Author : Joakim Frögren; Aktivt och hälsosamt åldrande; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Digital health; Housing provision; E-health; Dementia; Ageing in place; Built environment; Decision support; Housing accessibility; Housing and health; Research circle; Trade-offs; Planning; Public health; User involvement; Sweden; Older people; Ageing and older people; Mild Cognitive Impairment;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to explore the perceptions of, prerequisites for and benefits of user involvement among older people, persons with functional impairments and other user groups important to the research area. By using an adapted conceptual tool to categorize the various user involvement studies comprising the thesis, the aim wasalso to reflect on the importance of study design for the outcomes of the user involvement, and thus to contribute to the development of generalizable knowledge and cumulative knowledge in research on ageing and health. 3. 3. Advanced Genomic Tools in Translational Research of Neurodevelopmental Disorders

    Author : Josefin Johansson; Maria Wilbe; Joris Vermeesch; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; neurodevelopmental disorders; translational research; advanced genomic technologies; Medicinsk genetik; Medical Genetics;

    Abstract : Neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs) affect >4.7% of individuals world-wide. Most cases are expected to have an underlying genetic cause. However, only 36–40% of those affected get a genetic diagnosis through exome sequencing. READ MORE

  4. 4. Maximally Supersymmetric Models in Four and Six Dimensions

    Author : Fredrik Ohlsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Taub-NUT space; Flat connections; Topologically non-trivial connections; 0 theory; Maximal supersymmetry; 2; Circle fibrations; Yang-Mills theory;

    Abstract : We consider two examples of maximally supersymmetric models; the N=4 Yang-Mills theory in four dimensions and the (2,0) theory in six dimensions. The first part of the thesis serves as an introduction to the topics covered in the appended research papers, and begins with a self-contained discussion of principal fibre bundles and symplectic geometry. 5. 5. Twisting and Turning in Six Dimensions

    Author : Hampus Linander; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; 0 theory; 2; Yang-Mills theory; Topological twisting; Circle fibrations; Compactification; Supersymmetry; Topological field theory;

    Abstract : This thesis investigates certain aspects of a six-dimensional quantum theoryknown as (2,0) theory. This theory is maximally supersymmetric and conformal,making it the most symmetric higher dimensional quantum theory known. It hasresisted an explicit construction as a quantum field theory yet its existence can beinferred from string theory. READ MORE
