  1. 1. Design Principles for Network Distributed Denial of Service Defense

    Author : Todd Booth; Karl Andersson; Tero Päivärinta; Antonios Michalas; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; DRDoS; DDoS; Network Security; DSR; Information systems; Informationssystem;

    Abstract : People, organizations and society are become more and more dependent upon access to Information Systems. Most Information Systems are accessible via the Internet. It is becoming easier and easier to perform successful network attacks against these Information Systems, which causes the system to become unavailable for its intended users. READ MORE

  2. 2. International network competitiveness : Technical and foreign market knowledge development in international SME networks

    Author : Angelika Löfgren; James Sallies; Handelshögskolan i Stockholm; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; International competiveness; SME; International entrepreneurship; Business networks; Innovation; Co-innovation; Internationalization; International entrepreneurship; Network management; Network coordination; Knowledge management; Knowledge development; Business studies; Företagsekonomi;

    Abstract : How can small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) compete over time within international networks? This thesis takes a stance in that business network relationships are essential for international SMEs as such networks can provide knowledge and learning opportunities. International network competitiveness is, in this thesis, introduced as a concept that captures SMEs long term performance, resulting from the firms being competitive within international business networks. 3. 3. Reliable and deterministic network services

    Author : Florian-Daniel Otel; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; queuing delay guarantees; service curve; constraint-based routing; TCP; network security; arrival curve; network failure recovery; traffic engineering; network calculus; traffic envelope;

    Abstract : In a post Internet bubble economic environment the obvious lack of any disruptive new technologies that could give new impetus to network growth (as, for example, experienced after the appearance of the Web) lead to a trivialization of network services: Aside grass-roots, semi-subterranean applications like file sharing, entertainment content swapping and on-line gaming, it can be argued that network services are presently used in a manner not very different than a decade ago. In this respect, one of the factors that can be identified as limiting further development is the perceived lack of guarantees with regard to network services. READ MORE

  4. 4. Diving into the zebrafish locomotor network : A study on dI6 interneurons

    Author : Ana Belen Iglesias Gonzalez; Henrik Boije; Filippo Del Bene; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; danio rerio; locomotion; dmrt3a; wt1a; calretinin; transcriptome; spinal cord; morphology; dI6 neurons; knock-down out; Neuroscience; Neurovetenskap;

    Abstract : The generation and coordination of locomotion comprise of inhibitory and excitatory interneurons that govern motor neuron output to muscles. This neuronal network is known as the central pattern generator (CPG). Spinal inhibitory interneurons that originate from the dI6 population play a crucial role in the coordination of locomotor output. READ MORE

  5. 5. Digital Innovation : Orchestrating Network Activities

    Abstract : Digitization of analogue everyday artifacts, i.e. when physical products are equipped with digital capabilities, has a profound impact on today’s society. Some examples of these digital innovations aimed at consumer markets are the “connected” car, the digitized television set, and in the near future, digitized IKEA furniture. READ MORE
