  1. 1. Sediment Characteristics and Sedimentation Rate Estimation in the Dukan Reservoir

    Author : Rebwar Hassan; Nadhir Al-Ansari; Sven Knutsson; Salahalddin S. Ali; Fadhil Ahmed Ameen; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Area-storage-capacity curves; Bathymetric survey; Dukan dam; Land use; Reservoir sedimentation; Sediment trap efficiency; SWAT; Soil Mechanics; Geoteknik;

    Abstract : The Dukan Reservoir has been created from the construction of the Dukan Dam on the Lesser Zab River where it crosses the Khalakan Thrust Sheet (Khalakan Mountains) through a gorge 65 km northwest of Sulaimani and 295 km northeast of Baghdad. The Dukan Dam is a multi-purpose dam which was built from 1954 to 1959 to control the flooding of the Lesser Zab River, and to provide irrigation, hydroelectricity, and water storage. READ MORE

  2. 2. Diagenesis and Reservoir-Quality Evolution of Deep-Water Turbidites: Links to Basin Setting, Depositional Facies, and Sequence Stratigraphy

    Author : Howri Mansurbeg; Sadoon Morad; Ihsan Al-Aasm; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Bedrock geology; Diagenesis; reservoir quality; active margin; passive margin; depositional facies; sequence stratigraphy; Berggrundsgeologi;

    Abstract : A study of the distribution of diagenetic alterations and their impact on reservoir-quality evolution in four deep-water turbidite successions (Cretaceous to Eocene) from basins in active (foreland) and passive margins revealed the impact of tectonic setting, depositional facies, and changes in the relative sea level. Diagenetic modifications encountered in the turbiditic sandstones from the passive margin basins include dissolution and kaolinitization (kaolin has δ18OV-SMOW = +13. READ MORE

  3. 3. Time-lapse Analysis of Borehole and Surface Seismic Data, and Reservoir Characterization of the Ketzin CO2 Storage Site, Germany

    Author : Can Yang; Christopher Juhlin; Rob Arts; Uppsala universitet; []

    Abstract : The CO2SINK (and CO2MAN) project is the first onshore CO2 storage project in Europe. The research site is located near the town of Ketzin, close to Potsdam in Germany. Injection started in June 2008, with a planned injection target of 100,000 tonnes of CO2. READ MORE

  4. 4. 3D Time-lapse Analysis of Seismic Reflection Data to Characterize the Reservoir at the Ketzin CO2 Storage Pilot Site

    Author : Fei Huang; Christopher Juhlin; Alireza Malehmir; Ari Tryggvason; Andy Chadwick; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; CO2 storage; 3D Time-lapse 4D ; Reservoir characterization; Seismic simulation; Spectral decomposition; Wavelet phase; Tuning frequency; Thin-layer thickness; Seismic monitoring; Seismic processing; Quantitative interpretation; Geofysik med inriktning mot fasta jordens fysik; Geophysics with specialization in Solid Earth Physics;

    Abstract : 3D time-lapse seismics, also known as 4D seismics, have great potential for monitoring the migration of CO2 at underground storage sites. This thesis focuses on time-lapse analysis of 3D seismic reflection data acquired at the Ketzin CO2 geological storage site in order to improve understanding of the reservoir and how CO2 migrates within it. Abstract : In this work, mathematical models have been developed describing drug release from film-coated reservoir systems as well as drug release and polymer dissolution from swelling and dissolving polymer tablets. The model derivation of both systems is based on a mechanistic approach. The model describing drug release from reservoir systems, i.e. READ MORE
