16. Dynamics of multiphoton processes in nonlinear optics and x-ray spectroscopy
Abstract : New generations of ultrashort and intense laser pulses as well ashigh power synchrotron radiation sources and x-ray free electronlasers have promoted fast developments in nonlinear optics andx-ray spectroscopy. The new experimental achievements and the appearance of varieties of novelnonlinear phenomena call for further development of theories. 17. Quantum nuclear dynamics in x-ray scattering and lasing
Abstract : This thesis presents a theoretical study of the role of nuclear degrees of freedom in the x-ray absorption, x-ray resonant scattering and some aspects of the interaction of matter with strong laser fields. Most numerical simulations are performed with a time-dependent wave-packet program that have proved its robustness in previous investigations. READ MORE

18. Electronic structure studies using resonant X-ray and photoemission spectroscopy
Abstract : This thesis addresses the electronic structure of molecules and solids using resonant X-ray emission and photoemission spectroscopy. The use of monochromatic synchrotron radiation and the improved performance of the instrumentation have opened up the possibility of detailed analyses of the response of the electronic systems under interaction with X-rays. 19. Double Excitations in Helium Atoms and Lithium Compounds
Abstract : This thesis addresses the investigation of doubly excited 2l´nl states in helium atoms and double core excitations in solid lithium compounds.Measurements on He are made in field free environments and under the influence of electric and magnetic fields, using synchrotron based inelastic photon scattering. 20. Multidimensional nuclear dynamics studied by resonant X-ray scattering and pump-probe spectroscopy
Abstract : This thesis is devoted to the theoretical studies of the multidimensional nuclear dynamics in molecules with the help of X-ray and pump-probe spectroscopy. Using an accurate yet computationally cheap mixed approach multimode X-ray absorption spectra (XAS) and resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) spectra of water, methanol, and acetic acid were calculated and compared with the available experimental spectra in the gas and liquid phases.
