21. Resonant Soft X-ray Spectroscopic Studies of C60 and Related Materials
Abstract : This thesis addresses the electronic structure of molecular and correlated solids using resonant inelastic soft X-ray scattering (RIXS), non-resonant X-ray emission, photoemissionand X-ray absorption spectroscopies. The use of monochromatised synchrotron radiation and improved energy resolution for X-ray emission have made it possible to elucidate the normal state transport properties and to get further insight into the electron-vibration coupling in fullerenes and the related compounds. 22. X-ray Spectroscopic Studies of Materials for Nuclear Technology
Abstract : X-ray spectroscopic experiments, including X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), X-ray emission spectroscopy (XES) and resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS), were performed in a large energy range (60-9000 eV) on a variety of systems, probing different elements and orbitals. The systems can preferably be divided into three groups: Actinides, copper systems and amorphous materials. READ MORE

23. Resonant Soft X-ray Spectroscopic Studies of Light Actinides and Copper Systems
Abstract : Light actinides and copper systems were studied using resonant soft X-ray spectroscopy. An instrumental and experimental setup for soft X-ray spectroscopy meeting the requirements of a closed source for radioactivity was developed and described in detail. The setup was used for studies of single-crystal PuO2 oxidation. READ MORE

24. Nuclear Dynamics in Linear and Non-linear X-ray Processes
Abstract : New generations of brilliant synchrotron radiation sources and intense X-ray and optical lasers have opened unprecedent opportunities in linear and non-linear spectroscopies of molecules. This together with new instrumentation calls for further development of theory to explain observations and suggest new experiments. READ MORE

25. Soft X-Ray Spectroscopic Study of Fullerene Based Transition-Metal Compounds and Related Systems
Abstract : This thesis addresses the electronic and geometric structures of fullerene based transition-metal compounds and other related systems. The formation of TixC60, VxC60 and NbxC60 compounds has been examined by X-ray photoelectron, soft X-ray absorption and emission and spectroscopy techniques, including resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS).
