  1. 1. Human Resource Disclosures

    Author : Gunnar Rimmel; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; human resource disclousures; voluntary disclousure; human resourses; accounting; annual reporting practice; disclousure scoreboard; comparative analysis;

    Abstract : Although several corporations proclaim their employees as being thecorporation's most valuable resource, only a few corporations have utilised models and concepts of measuring human resources in their corporate annualreports. In the ongoing academic debate, human resource disclosures are often described and thought of as problematic due to the limited understanding of such information. READ MORE

  2. 2. Hydrokinetic Resource Assessment : Measurements and Models

    Author : Emilia Lalander; Mats Leijon; Mitsuhiro Kawase; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The conversion of kinetic energy in water currents into electricity has gained great attention the past years. The conversion systems are stand-alone units that typically consist of a turbine, driven by the water stream, with a generator connected to it. READ MORE

  3. 3. Improved life cycle assessment of wastewater and sludge management with resource recovery

    Author : Sara Heimersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; allocation; LCA; sludge treatment; resource utilisation; sludge handling; biosolids; pathogen risks; wastewater treatment;

    Abstract : Around the world every day, large amounts of wastewater are treated before release, to avoid impacts on humans and the environment. The treatment requires resources in the form of energy and chemicals, and it generates large amounts of sewage sludge, however, it can also serve as a source of energy, nutrients and carbon. 4. 4. Carbon utilisation for extended nitrogen removal and resource savings

    Author : Tobias Hey; Avdelningen för kemiteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; primary sludge hydrolysis; carbon source; energy; resources; denitrification; environment; economy; volatile fatty acids; multiple pH point titration; wastewater treatment; activated sludge simulation.;

    Abstract : A full-scale in-line primary sludge hydrolysis experiment was conducted in one out of four primary settlers at the Klagshamn Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) to test if the wastewater quality can be improved in terms of providing easily accessible carbon for possible pre-denitrification and the reduction of external carbon sources. The amount of easily accessible carbon produced, in the form of the volatile fatty acid (VFA), alkalinity and ammonium concentrations, was measured throughout the entire full-scale experiment at the outlet of the hydrolysis tank and that of the ordinary primary settler, which served as a reference line.
