11. Competition law in technology transfer under the Trips agreement
Abstract : The TRIPS Agreement allows WTO members to appropriately enact and apply national competition law to address IPR-related anti-competitive practices. However, application of national competition law to anti-competitive restraints in technology transfer agreements and to abuses of refusal to transfer technology varies from developed countries to developing countries and even between developed countries. 12. Structure and Dynamics of the Hepatitis B Virus Encapsidation Signal Revealed by NMR Spectroscopy
Abstract : This thesis describes the study of the three-dimensional structure and dynamics of the hepatitis B virus (HBV) encapsidation signal, epsilon, by means of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and mutational data. HBV replicates by reverse transcription of an RNA pregenome into the viral DNA genome, which becomes enclosed in viral particles (encapsidation). READ MORE

13. Conformational Studies of Biologically Active Peptides
Abstract : In this work conformational studies have been performed on peptides from four different systems in an attempt to gain knowledge about their biological function. Circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy in combination with distance geometry and restrained molecular dynamics simulations were the methods used. 14. Restrained behaviour of beams in steel frames exposed to fire
Abstract : The current design procedures prescribed by the codes for design of steel beams at elevated temperatures require that the ultimate flexural resistance of the beam should be checked against the applied loading. This approach does not take into account the redistribution of bending moment due to fire exposure that takes place in a redundant frame. READ MORE

15. NMR as a tool in drug research : Structure elucidation of peptidomimetics and pilicide-chaperone complexes
Abstract : In the last decades NMR spectroscopy has become an invaluable tool both in academic research and in the pharmaceutical industry. This thesis describes applications of NMR spectroscopy in biomedicinal research for structure elucidation of biologically active peptides and peptidomimetics as well as in studies of ligand-protein interactions.
