1. On the Modelling of Mechanical Dewatering in Papermaking
Abstract : Most of the water fed into a paper machine is removedmechanically in the forming and press sections. One of thefactor which has an important influence on mechanicaldewatering, i.e. in both forming and pressing, is thestress-strain behaviour of the fibre network. READ MORE

2. Phase Separation and Gelation of Biopolymers in Confined Geometries
Abstract : Many biopolymer mixtures exhibit segregative phase separation that generates regions enriched in one polymer and depleted in the other. Today, much is known of how phase separating biopolymer systems behaves in bulk phase, and the final morphology can be controlled and tailored with high precision. READ MORE

3. Foam Formation and Starch Gelatinization with Alpha-Crystalline Emulsifiers
Abstract : In the baking industry, emulsifiers in the alpha-gel state are used for foam formation. This thesis focuses on some parts of the effects of the emulsifier: how the foam formation and foam stability are influenced by the physical state of the emulsifier, how emulsifiers change the gelatinization and gel formation of starch, and the impact that these factors may have in a true product such as a sponge cake. 4. Mammalian brain acetylcholinesterase : a study of its solubilization, purification, molecular state and interactions with cholinergic ligands including an endogenous modulator
Abstract : Membrane bound AChE from calf brain caudate nucleus was solubilized by use of ion-free media in presence of 10~ M EDTA and 10“5M tetracaine. The irreversible release of AChE was more effectively inhibited by divalent ions compared to monovalent ions added to the medium. READ MORE

5. Photocontact Allergy to Ketoprofen and Simultaneous Contact Allergies
Abstract : Ketoprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug with analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory properties. It is available in both oral and topical formulations. Photocontact allergy to topically applied ketoprofen has been the most frequent side effect of the formulation, and is fairly well studied. READ MORE
