  1. 1. Three-wave mixing in Josephson travelling-wave parametric amplifiers

    Author : Hampus Renberg Nilsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; three-wave mixing; lumped-element; four-wave mixing; SNAIL; Josephson junction; travelling-wave parametric amplifier; parametric amplifier; parametric amplification; resonant phase matching.; rf-SQUID;

    Abstract : This work explores possibilities of building a wide-band, quantum-limited low-noise amplifier by means of three-wave mixing (3WM) in different kinds of Josephson travelling-wave parametric amplifiers (TWPAs). We extend the theory of the continuous three-mode model to include any number of up-converted modes in the small frequency limit where the frequency dispersion is close to linear. READ MORE

  2. 2. Collective Electron Dynamics in Mesoscopic Systems

    Author : Oleksandr Zazunov; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Andreev reflection; Josephson effect; qubit; composite fermions; Andreev levels; resonant tunneling; superconductivity; high-T c superconductors; quantum point contact; fractional quantum Hall effect;

    Abstract : This work is devoted to a theoretical investigation of collective electron dynamics in low dimensional materials and mesoscopic structures. A common feature of these studies is the focus on the properties of the low energy dynamics of conduction electrons. One class of studied materials is the high-Tc superconductor Nd2CuO4 and related compounds. READ MORE

  3. 3. Transport properties of Bi2Se3 Topological Insulator Nanoribbon-Superconductor hybrid junctions

    Author : Ananthu Pullukattuthara Surendran; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bismuth selenide; surface states; Topological insulator; ac susceptibility; Josephson junctions; superconductivity; SQUID; andreev bound states;

    Abstract : In recent years, topological superconductivity and Majorana zero-energy modes have attracted vast interest due to their potential for topologically protected quantum information processing. Hybrid devices involving a conventional s-wave superconductor (S) in proximity to a 3D Topological Insulator (TI) are expected to provide a platform for emulating and studying these phenomena.
