1. Nasal reactions and the school environment : Nasal patency and lavage biomarkers in relation to ventilation, cleaning and some indoor air pollutants
Abstract : In Sweden, 2 million persons are exposed to the school environment, and there has been reports on insufficient cleaning, and inadequate ventilation. The nasal mucosa is more easy to study than the lower airways, and rhinitis is common and possibly related to asthma. READ MORE

2. Non-infectious rhinitis. Epidemiology and clinic
Abstract : We have assessed self-reported rhinitis in the absence of common cold, called "Non-infectious rhinitis", (NIR). The occurrence of NIR was investigated in a population sample of 2,044 individuals, aged 21-51, in an industrialised county in Sweden who answered a questionnaire relating to NIR and occupational exposure to potential irritants and sensitisers. 4. Sensory neuropeptides and nitric oxide in nasal vascular regulation
Abstract : The role of sensory neuropeptides and nitric oxide in vascular regulation was investigated in the pig nasal mucosa in vivo using arterial blood flow measurements and acoustic rhinometry for analysis of capacitance function. Moreover, the effects of heavy physical exercise, a-adrenoceptor agonists, nitric oxide synthase (NOS) inhibition, L-arginine, nitric oxide (NO) gas, histamine and capsaicin on nasal cavity NO levels and nasal cavity volume, were investigated in healthy subjects. 5. Outcomes and Implications of Nasal Measurements in Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Abstract : BackgroundObstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a prevalent disorder and symptoms of nasal obstruction are highly prevalent in OSA. Treatment of nasal obstruction in OSA patients has shown modest and variable outcomes in reducing the apnea hypopnea index (AHI), but significant improvements in other indicators, such as sleep quality and daytime sleepiness as well as reductions in arousals have been observed.
