  1. 1. Biogas from slaughterhouse waste : Mixtures interactions in co-digestion

    Author : Jhosané Pagés Diaz; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Slaughterhouse waste; Agro-Waste; Co-digestion; Synergistic effects; Methanogenic community structure; Resource Recovery; Resursåtervinning;

    Abstract : Global environmental concerns connected to the use of fossil fuels have forced the development ofalternative sustainable energy technologies. The application of anaerobic digestion, from waste streams thatcurrently have no use, can be utilized for bioenergy production. READ MORE

  2. 2. Mechanical properties of excavated sulfur rich soil stabilized with cement - A laboratory and field experiment

    Author : Alaleh Ziagharib; Christian Maurice; Josef Macsik; Qi Jia; Jan Laue; Bo Vesterberg; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Sulfur-rich soil; Mixing; Sampling; Unconfined compressive strength; stabilization; Porosity; Water content; Consistency limits; Geoteknik; Soil Mechanics;

    Abstract : Sulfide soils are silty soils, often found in saturated conditions, under the groundwater level. Characteristics of these soils, including particle size distribution and consistency limits along with chemical composition and environmental properties, cause excavation to be necessary for construction purposes. 3. 3. Characterization and solidification of arsenic-rich cyanided tailings

    Author : Roger Hamberg; Lena Sultan; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Applied Geology; Tillämpad geologi;

    Abstract : Information on the occurrence of As species and iron sulphide minerals in tailings is essential for predicting therelease of As over extended period of time. Tailings originating from a goldmine in northern Sweden with low content of trace elements except for As were used for this purpose. The dominating sulphides were pyrrhotite and arsenopyrite. 4. 4. Synthesis of Transition Metal Aluminides from Elemental Powder Mixtures

    Author : Hossein Sina; Materialteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Aluminides; Intermetallics; Powder Metallurgy; Reactive Sintering; Combustion Synthesis; Thermal Analysis; DSC; Onset temperature; Phase evolution; SEM; EDS; XRD;

    Abstract : Structural components such as those used in gas turbines for energy conversion applications, are subjected to high loads at elevated temperatures. In order to ensure that the components survive under these conditions for a sufficiently long time, it is imperative to select materials with good high temperature properties like strength and corrosion resistance. 5. 5. Bilayers with Surfactant-induced Pores and Demixing in Micelles : Studies of Segregation in Amphiphile Systems

    Author : Mari Kadi; Mats Almgren; Per Hansson; Ulf Olsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physical chemistry; fluorocarbon surfactants; amphiphile mixtures; perforated bilayers; segregation; NMR; surfactant selective electrode; cryo-TEM; SANS; AFM; Fysikalisk kemi; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi;

    Abstract : The focus of this thesis has been on the effects of segregation in mixtures of amphiphilic molecules. Two different systems were investigated: fluorocarbon-hydrocarbon surfactant mixtures and lipid-surfactant mixtures. READ MORE
