  1. 6. Nanostructured carbon materials prepared by hole-mask colloidal lithography

    Author : Hans Fredriksson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; HOPG; GC; Colloidal Lithography; Oxygen; RIE; Nanofabrication;

    Abstract : Research and development of nanofabrication methods can be motivated both formanufacturing of commercially available products like micro electronic componentsand for development of model systems for fundamental and applied science. Thefabrication process developed during this work, hole-mask colloidal lithography(HCL), is primarily oriented towards the latter two, specifically for research in thefields of catalysis, nanoparticle plasmons, and bio- and fundamental physics. 2. 7. Manufacture and characterization of elastic interconnection microstructures in silicone elastomer

    Author : Slavko Dejanovic; Sture Petersson; Johan Liu; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; silicone elastomer; packaging; assembly; elastic interconnection; chip socket; metallization; RIE of silicone elastomer; Electrophysics; Elektrofysik;

    Abstract : The subject of this thesis is a new chip to substrate interconnection technique using self-aligning elastic chip sockets. This work was focused on the technology steps which are necessary to fulfill in order to realize the suggested technique. READ MORE

  3. 8. Fabrication and Charaterisation of Photonic Integrated Circuits

    Author : Harendra Fernando; KTH; []
    Keywords : Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapour Deposition PECVD ; Reactive Ion Etching RIE ; Photosensitivity; Bragg-gratings; Optical Add-drop De Multiplexsers;

    Abstract : The past few decades have seen an explosive increase ininformation transfer, fuelled by the enormous growth of theInternet, telecommunication applications, and mass mediasystems in general. Because of the very high bandwidthpotential promised by optical fibre communication technology,the area of all-optical networking has received a great amountof attention. READ MORE

  4. 9. High order trapezoidal rule-based quadratures for boundary integral methods on non-parametrized surfaces

    Author : Federico Izzo; Olof Runborg; Robert Krasny; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Matematik; Mathematics;

    Abstract : This thesis is concerned with computational methods for solving boundary integral equations (BIE) on surfaces defined without explicit parametrization, called Implicit Boundary Integral Methods (IBIM). Using implicit methods for describing surfaces, such as the level-set method, can be advantageous for complex geometries and problems where the surface evolves over time. READ MORE

  5. 10. The RDGT - Integration of Micromechanics and Electronics by Plasma Assisted Wafer Bonding

    Author : Anke Sanz-Velasco; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; bonding; displacement measurement; oxygen plasma; low temperature wafer bonding; capacitive detection; high resolution; CMOS compatibility; MOSFET; low impedance sensing; resonant gate transistor;

    Abstract : A high-resolution capacitive sensing technique is presented in this thesis: the Resonant Double Gate Transistor (RDGT). The major advantage of the RDGT compared to "pure" capacitive sensing techniques is its low output impedance because of the direct capacitance to current conversion of the transistor. READ MORE
