1. Prometheus at the wheel : Representations of road transport informatics
Abstract : The dissertation deals with the challenge of developing information technology for road transport, a field often referred to as Road Transport Informatics. Oskar Juhlin studies in particular how engineers cope with the contingent and social aspects of the design process and of road use. READ MORE

2. Modelling Interfacial Details in Tyre/Road Contact Adhesion Forces and Non-Linear Contact Stiffness
Abstract : Rolling resistance, noise generation, and wear are all determined by the interaction process between the rolling automotive vehicle tyre and the road. A deep understandingof the interaction process is needed for optimisation aiming at reducing these effects. READ MORE

3. Mimic: A Microscopic Simulation Model for Rural Road Traffic
Abstract : The purpose of this dissertation is to outline the theoretical basis of a road traffic simulation model, named Mimic, that constitutes the key elements of a system for estimating road user effects and environmental impacts. The simulation model suggested is a microscopic road traffic simulation model and it is structured to be used for networks of rural roads. READ MORE

4. Road runoff quality in cold climates
Abstract : The main objective of the doctoral thesis was to investigate the complex processes and influencing factors affecting snowmelt-induced runoff and snowmelt quality in a cold climate under wintry conditions compared to non- winter conditions in areas with a warmer climate. In order to improve the understanding and knowledge of road-runoff quantity, quality and pollutant transport, snowmelt and rainfall runoff were studied and characterized in the laboratory and in the field, respectively. 5. On the Road to Graphene Biosensors
Abstract : Biosensors are devices that detect biological elements and then transmit a readable signal. Biosensors can automatize diagnostics that would otherwise have to be performed by a physician or perhaps not be possible to perform at all. Current biosensors are however either limited to particular diseases or prohibitively expensive. READ MORE
