    Abstract : Luftburna partiklar (PM) är ett problem för människans hälsa, där flertalet samband mellan negativa hälsoeffekter finns mellan luftföroreningar finns, bland annat för respiratoriska sjukdomar, lungcancer och kardiovaskulära sjukdomar med flera. I länder där dubbdäck används, till exempel Sverige, Finland och Norge, och sandning av vägar och gator genomförs vintertid för att säkerställa god friktion kommer en betydande andel av partiklarna från vägslitage och nedkrossning av sand vilket bidrar till PM10. 2. 2. Evaluation of Road Equipment with Emphasis on Condition Assessment

    Author : Sven-Olof Lundkvist; Ulf Isacsson; Rolf Magnusson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Road equipment; Condition assessment; State-of-the-art; Mobile measurement; Road marking; Road sign; Post delineator; Traffic light; Street lighting; Civil engineering and architecture; Samhällsbyggnadsteknik och arkitektur;

    Abstract : This doctoral thesis deals primarily with condition assessment of road equipment. The road equipment concept is defined by five main groups, road lighting, fences and barriers, vertical signs, horizontal signs and traffic signals, respectively. READ MORE

  3. 3. Light for a brighter morrow : paving the way for sustainable light-emitting devices

    Author : Petter Lundberg; Ludvig Edman; Thomas Wågberg; Magnus Jonsson; Umeå universitet; []

  4. 4. Implementing Road Pricing : Standards, Institutions, Costs, and Public Acceptance

    Author : Carl J. Hamilton; Jonas Eliasson; Robert Lindsey; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Much has been researched and written about road pricing, and especially how it affects traffic flow, congestion, the environment, and social welfare in general. This doctoral thesis analyses the implementation of road user charges rather than its effects. The dissertation consists of five separate papers, each addressing a subset of the topic. READ MORE

  5. 5. Occurrence of Traffic-Derived Microplastics in Different Matrices in the Road Environment

    Author : Ida Järlskog; Yvonne Andersson-Sköld; Stephan Wagner; Statens väg- och transportforskningsinstitut; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; non-exhaust particles; tire wear particles; road dust; automated SEM EDX; environmental samples; optimized sample preparation; organic pollutants; street sweeping; traffic-derived microplastics; road simulator;

    Abstract : The prevalence of microplastic contamination has raised concerns about the potential risk and impact on the global environment. Traffic-derived microplastics, i.e., tire wear particles (TWP), polymer-modified bitumen, and road markings contribute to the emissions, and TWP are assumed to be one of the largest sources of microplastic emissions.
