    Keywords : MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Membrane vesicles; autophagy; pore-forming toxin; pore formation; Listeria monocytogenes; Vibrio cholerae; virulence factor; PrtV protease; listeriolysin O; V. cholerae cytolysin; mikrobiologi; Microbiology; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Abstract : The production of membranous vesicles is observed to occur among organisms from all domains of the tree of life spanning prokaryotes (bacteria, archaea) and eukaryotes (plants, animals and fungi). Bacterial release of membrane-derived vesicles (MVs) has been studied most extensively in cases of Gram-negative species and implicating their outer membrane in formation of extracellular MVs. 2. 2. Spaces within Spaces : The Construction of a Collaborative Reality

    Author : Hillevi Sundholm; Carl Gustaf Jansson; Yvonne Rogers; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Co-located collaboration; Distributed collaboration; Teamwork; Interactive spaces; Space; Computer and systems science; Data- och systemvetenskap; Man-Machine-Interaction MMI ; människa-maskin-interaktion MMI ;

    Abstract : This thesis is about collaborative activities in interactive spaces. These spaces are characterized by having shared, large displays in combination with private displays and software tools that facilitate a fluent sharing of information between people and their resources. READ MORE

  3. 3. Gaining influence in standard-setting processes : a discussion of underlying mechanisms in 3G mobile telephony technology development

    Author : Christina Grundström; Helén Andersson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : Dominant designs; standard-setting processes; 3G mobile telephony technology development; technology and standards hierarchy; industry maturity; roles and functions of people; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : The environment in which companies operate is such that standards become increasingly important due to the built-in rigidities resulting from previous technology investments and network externalities. The research question is: How can a market-leading company gain influence on the formation of standards perceived as vital for the company-s continued business? The purpose of the dissertation is to explore, describe, and characterise how such influence may be gained; it thus aims to reveal some of the mechanisms underlying a technology standard-setting process. 4. 4. Biochemical and Physiological Characterization of Nonsymbiotic Plant Hemoglobins

    Author : Nélida Leiva; Tillämpad biokemi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hemoglobin; Non-symbiotic hemoglobin; Sugar beet; Ligand binding; Nitric oxide; Gene expression; Gene overexpression; Poplar; Arabidopsis; Lepidium campestre.;

    Abstract : Hemoglobins (Hb) are usually associated with blood in humans. However, these proteins are widely distributed among living organisms. In plants the most known group are the leghemoglobins. Still, other Hbs that not participate in symbiosis are also found. READ MORE

  5. 5. On organizing for digital preservation

    Author : Mari Runardotter; Luleå tekniska universitet; []

    Abstract : Information technology facilitates production and spreading of information, as well as enables the transformation towards e-government and e-services. As a consequence, numerous official documents are born digital, i.e. no paper originals exist. READ MORE
