  1. 1. Muscle Tenderness in Women

    Author : Ann Persson; Neurokirurgi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Reliability.; Electronic algometer; Pain threshold; Pain measurement; Shoulder pain; Tenderness; Muscle; Nociception; Central processing; Physical medicine; kinesitherapy; revalidation; rehabilitation; Rehabilitering medicinsk och social ;

    Abstract : Longstanding pain experienced from the musculoskeletal system is reported by one third of the Swedish population. The underlying mechanisms are not known in the majority of cases. READ MORE

  2. 2. Bone tissue regeneration indento-alveolar surgery : clinical and experimental studies on biomaterials and bone graft substitutes

    Author : Annika Sahlin-Platt; Maria Ransjö; Christer Dahlin; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biomaterials; bone graft substitutes; compomer; root end filling; Bio-Oss; Bioactive glass 45S5; Algipore; SEM EDAX; ICP-OES; Cryo-XPS;

    Abstract : Pathological processes in the alveolar and facial bones can lead to bone loss that may not heal with complete regeneration. Biomaterials can be used to facilitate the healing process and/or as a bone substitute, but the mechanisms are not fully understood. READ MORE

  3. 3. On healing after periapical surgery and different retrograde root-filling materials. A clinical and histological study

    Author : Dan-Åke Wälivaara; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : periapical surgery; ultrasonic preparation; IRM; thermoplasticized gutta-percha; Super-EBA; mineral trioxide aggregate; root-filling status; lesion size; lesion type;

    Abstract : Aims: The outcome from conventional endodontic therapy does not always result in a healing of the periapical area, thus leaving a remaining lesion with or without symptoms. The primary treatment alternative is a revision of the orthograde root-filling if applicable. A second treatment alternative might be a periapical surgery procedure. READ MORE

  4. 4. Factors associated with healing of periradicular lesions

    Author : John Danin; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Periradicular pathosis; cytokine; IL- Ira; IL-6; TGF-beta1; root canal treatment; endodontic retreatment; root- end surgery; antibiotic; linezolid; refractory periapical lesions.;

    Abstract : Healing of periradicular lesions is a complex process. This thesis addressed some factors of importance to the outcome, namely treatment options and host response in cases of refractory lesions, levels of pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines in the inflammatory lesions and the response of the cytokines to preoperative administration of antibiotics. 5. 5. Living biohybrid systems via in vivo polymerization of thiophene oligomers

    Author : Gwennaël Dufil; Eleni Stavrinidou; Daniel T Simon; David C. Martin; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Conducting polymers; Living tissue engineering; In vivo polymerization; Plant Biohybrids; Hydra polyps; Energy storage; Glucose sensor;

    Abstract : Life is the result of a multitude of electrical signals which drives our nervous system but also accomplishes a cascade of electrochemical reactions. In the 18th century, Lucia Galeazzi and Luigi Galvani got the idea to stimulate frog legs with electrodes. READ MORE
