2. Measurement and Application of Multidirectional Mobilities
Abstract : The direct measurement of moment mobility, employing a twin exciter technique, is theoretically and experimentally examined. This is continued by a theoretical and experimental analysis of an improved technique using source signal filtering, for two degrees of freedom, for the measurement of multidirectional mobilities. 3. Collective Excitations in Transitional Nuclei Studied by Means of gamma-ray Spectroscopy and Lifetime Measurements
Abstract : Despite that it is more than 100 years since the atomic nucleus was first dis- covered by Ernest Rutherford and coworkers, many of its features still elude our understanding. The fact that the fundamental interactions between the nuclear constituents; nucleons, and ultimately quarks, are not yet known in detail, and the complexity of the nuclear many-body system compound the great challenges facing theoretical interpretations of experimental data. 4. Rotationally cold molecular ions in DESIREE : Threshold photodetachment thermometry of OH− and OD−
Abstract : In experiments on molecular ions it is highly beneficial if the ions are in the electronic, vibrational and rotational ground state. Previous studies on these systems in ion traps or storage rings have been successful in preparing the molecular ions in the electronic and vibrational ground states, but the rotational degrees of freedom are experimentally more challenging due to their long relaxation times and the relatively small amounts of energy required for rotational excitations. 5. Precision molecular spectroscopy in the near- and mid-infrared using frequency comb-based Fourier transform spectrometers
Abstract : Absorption spectroscopy is a powerful scientific tool for non-invasive and remote sensing applications ranging from atmospheric monitoring to astrophysics. In spectroscopic detection schemes it is necessary to have spectral models for any molecular species to be detected or quantified. READ MORE
