    Author : Shaheda T. Akter; Thomas K. Bader; Erik Serrano; Jan Oscarsson; Reinhard Brandner; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; rolling shear; biaxial testing; stress combination; RT-plane; moisture influence; rolling shear creep; digital image correlation; strain field; CLT connection; rotational stiffness; rullskjuvning; biaxiell undersökning; spänningskombination; RT-plan; fuktpåverkan; krypning vid rullskjuving; digital bildkorrelation; töjningsfält; KLTanslutning; rotationsstyvhet; Byggteknik; Civil engineering;

    Abstract : Compression perpendicular to the grain (CPG) of wood is a typical loading situation in timber structures. It has been an extensively studied research topic for decades, due to the highly ductile behavior of wood under such loading, the large variations in mechanical properties, and the relevance of these properties in structural design. 2. 2. Drift-Type Waves in Rotating Tokamak Plasma

    Author : Elina Asp; Vladimir Pavlenko; Hans Nordman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Space and plasma physics; fusion; plasma; tokamak; rotation; drift; ship; ITG; TE; Landau; Te Ti; hot-electron; confinement; stiffness; Weiland; Rymd- och plasmafysik; Space physics; Rymdfysik; Space and Plasma Physics; rymd- och plasmafysik;

    Abstract : The concept of energy production through the fusion of two light nuclei has been studied since the 1950’s. One of the major problems that fusion scientists have encountered is the confinement of the hot ionised gas, i.e. the plasma, in which the fusion process takes place. READ MORE

  3. 3. Three-Dimensional Load-Deformation Relationships of Arbitrarily Loaded Coiled Springs

    Author : Lars Lindkvist; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; extended stiffness model; helical spring; non-linear deformation; stiffness matrix; coiled spring; arbitrary load; large deformation; three-dimensional;

    Abstract : This paper reports the development of a computer based tool that can be used to predict the three-dimensional load-deformation relationships of arbitrarily loaded coiled springs. The non-linear deformation of the spring is calculated by dividing the spring into small elements for which the load-deformation relationships can be considered to be linear. READ MORE

  4. 4. Laser-welded corrugated core steel sandwich panels for bridge application

    Author : Peter Nilsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; shear stiffness; corrugated core; laser-welding; joint geometry; sandwich panel;

    Abstract : The design of steel bridge decks has remained unchanged since the introduction of orthotropic decks. Orthotropic decks are expensive to produce, mainly due to high labor-costs. READ MORE

  5. 5. Stiffness of reverse channel connections at room and elevated temperatures

    Author : Tim Heistermann; Darko Beg; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Steel Structures; Stålbyggnad;

    Abstract : A frame structure exposed to fire undergoes two types of changes due to the resulting temperature fields. The first is the thermal expansion of the structural members and the second is the degradation of the material strength and stiffness as temperature rises. READ MORE
