1. Runaway electrons in tokamak plasmas
Abstract : .... READ MORE

2. The role of magnetic perturbations in runaway electron and sawtooth dynamics
Abstract : As the world's fusion energy program is increasingly focused towards burning plasma experiments, it is important to address the remaining theoretical issues. In this thesis we focus on the effect of magnetic perturbations on the radial plasma transport. READ MORE

3. The role of magnetic perturbations in runaway electron and sawtooth dynamics
Abstract : Nuclear fusion in tokamaks is a possible future energy production mechanism. Some of the still unsolved problems are connected to the effect of magnetic perturbations on the radial plasma transport. Two such problems are addressed in this thesis. READ MORE

4. Simulation of runaway electron generation during plasma shutdown by impurity injection
Abstract : Disruptions are dangerous instabilities in tokamaks that should be avoided or mitigated. One possible disruption mitigation method is to inject impurities into the plasma to shut it down in a controlled way. Runaway Electrons (REs) can be generated after the plasma is cooled down bythe impurities and these electrons can damage the tokamak. READ MORE

5. Kinetic modeling of runaway-electron dynamics in partially ionized plasmas
Abstract : An essential result of kinetic plasma physics is the runaway phenomenon, whereby a fraction of an electron population can be accelerated to relativistic energies. Such runaway electrons are formed in astrophysical settings, but are also of great practical relevance to fusion research. READ MORE
