  1. 1. Large-scale Runoff Generation and Routing : Efficient Parameterisation using High-resolution Topography and Hydrography

    Author : Lebing Gong; Sven Halldin; C.-Y. Xu; Allan Rodhe; Thorsten Wagener; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Parameterisation; runoff generation; routing; WASMOD-M; hydrography; data uncertainty; topographic index; scale; river network; response function; HydroSHEDS; HYDRO1k; Dongjiang basin; Parametrisering; avrinningsbildning; flödessvarstid; WASMOD-M; hydrografi; topografiskt index; dataosäkerhet; skala; flödesnät; svarstidssfunktion; HYDRO1k; HydroSHEDS; Dongjiang; Hydrology; Hydrologi; Hydrology; Hydrologi;

    Abstract : Water has always had a controlling influence on the earth’s evolution. Understanding and modelling the large-scale hydrological cycle is important for climate prediction and water-resources studies. READ MORE

  2. 2. Generation of urban runoff : Seasonal and climate change perspective

    Author : Shahab Moghadas; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; VA-teknik; Urban Water Engineering;

    Abstract : Runoff generation in cold regions is characterized by snowmelt contributions to runoff during the periods of thawing and changing runoff patterns due to frozen ground. This thesis project aimed at addressing these challenges by advancing the procedures for winter urban runoff computations and the assessment of control measures during the winter/spring period, when the snowmelt and frozen soils dominantly impact runoff generation in the current and future climates. 4. 4. Atmospheric corrosion and runoff processes on copper and zinc as roofing materials

    Author : Wenle He; KTH; []
    Keywords : atmospheric corrosion; corrosion rate; runoff rate; copper; zinc; field study; laboratory study; roof; first flush; rain quantity; rain intensity; rain pH; dry and wet deposition; corrosion and runoff process;

    Abstract : An extensive investigation with parallel field andlaboratory exposures has been conducted to elucidateatmospheric corrosion and metal runoff processes on copper andzinc used for roofing applications. Detailed studies have beenperformed to disclose the effect of various parameters on therunoff rate including: surface inclination and orientation,natural patination (age), patina composition, rain duration andvolume, rain pH, and length of dry periods inbetween rainevents. 5. 5. Response of glaciers to climate change : Mass balance sensitivity, sea level rise and runoff

    Author : Mattias de Woul; Regine Hock; Peter Jansson; Margareta Hansson; Roger J. Braithwaite; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; glacier; mass balance modelling; mass balance sensitivity; sea level rise; glacial runoff; Hofsjökull; Storglaciären; Physical geography; Naturgeografi; Physical Geography; naturgeografi;

    Abstract : The purpose of this study is to enhance our understanding of the response of glaciers to climate change. Global sea level is affected by changes in glacier ice volume, and melt-water from glaciers is a principal water source in many regions. READ MORE
