  1. 1. Infrared Emittance of Paper : Method Development, Measurements and Application

    Author : Caroline Hyll; Lars Mattsson; Hannes Vomhoff; Carl-Gustaf Ribbing; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; Emittance; Emissivity; Thermography; Paper; Sheet; Papermaking; Paper mechanics; Moisture; Material properties; Reflectance; Transmittance; Absorptance; Infrared; Mid-wavelength infrared; MWIR; Long-wavelength infrared; LWIR; Angle-resolved; Directional;

    Abstract : Thermography is a non-destructive technique which uses infrared radiation to obtain the temperature distribution of an object. The technique is increasingly used in the pulp and paper industry. To convert the detected infrared radiation to a temperature, the emittance of the material must be known. READ MORE

  2. 2. Image-based quantitative infrared analysis and microparticle characterisation for pulp and paper applications

    Author : Kari Hyll; Lars Mattsson; Hannes Vomhoff; Samuel Schabel; KTH; []

  4. 4. Banks, Shocks and Monetary Policy

    Author : Tamás Vasi; Nils Gottfries; Stefan Pitschner; Refet Gürkaynak; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; Monetary Policy; Financial Markets; Banks;

    Abstract : Essay 1: This paper studies the effect of monetary policy on the economy, distinguishing the effects of exogenous monetary policy shocks from information shocks that reveal the Federal Reserve's assessment of the economic outlook. To identify these two shocks, I exploit the difference in information content in public announcements by the Fed in its statements (released on decision days) and minutes of FOMC meetings (transcripts of the policy decision, released at a later date). 5. 5. Exploring mammalian preimplantation development and pluripotency

    Author : John Paul Schell; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Our current understanding of how stem cells arise and transition during embryonic development has been limited by analysis tools that have lacked single-cell, whole-genome resolution. This thesis emphasizes the use of novel techniques and cutting-edge technology to better evaluate the biological underpinning of stem cell dynamics in both mouse and human. READ MORE
