  1. 1. The evolutionary history of Geum (Rosaceae, Colurieae) : a study of ancient allopolyploid speciation

    Author : Jenny E. E. Smedmark; Birgitta Bremer; Pamela S. Soltis; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : Geum; Rosaceae; molecular phylogeny; allopolyploidy; morphological evolution; gynoecial development; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : Allopolyploid speciation plays an important role in flowering plant evolution. Its contribution to diversity has been suggested to be significant in Geum. READ MORE

  2. 2. Self-calibration and direct georeferencing in terrestrial laser scanning

    Author : Yuriy Reshetyuk; Lars E. Sjöberg; Milan Horemuz; Hansjörg Kutterer; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; terrestrial laser scanning; self-calibration; direct georeferencing; error sources; Surveying; Lantmäteri;

    Abstract : An important step in data processing from terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) is georeferencing, i.e. transformation of the scanner data (point clouds) into a real world coordinate system, which is important for their integration with other geospatial data. READ MORE

  3. 3. Mechanical behaviour of carbon nanostructures

    Author : Henrik Jackman; Krister Svensson; Pavel Krakhmalev; Eleanor E. B. Campbell; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; carbon nanotubes; CNT; multiwalled carbon nanotubes; MWCNT; rippling; buckling; mechanical properties; transmission electron microscopy; TEM; scanning electron microscopy; SEM; atomic force microscopy; AFM; Young’s modulus; in situ TEM; in situ SEM; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : AbstractCarbon nanotubes (CNTs) have extraordinary mechanical and electrical properties. Together with their small dimensions and low density, they are attractive candidates for building blocks in future nanoelectromechanical systems and for many other applications. READ MORE

  4. 4. Investigation and calibration of pulsed time-of-flight terrestrial laser scanners

    Author : Yuriy Reshetyuk; Lars E. Sjöberg; Stig-Göran Mårtensson; KTH; []
    Keywords : terrestrial laser scanning; error sources; calibration; coordinate precision accuracy;

    Abstract : This thesis has two aims. The first one is the investigation and analysis of the errors occurring in the measurements with pulsed time-of-flight (TOF) terrestrial laser scanners (TLS). A good understanding of the error sources and the relationships between them is necessary to secure the data accuracy. READ MORE

  5. 5. The relation between microstructure and mechanical properties of cobalt- and nickel-rich Co-Ti-C and Ni-Ti-C alloys

    Author : Birgit E. Jacobson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Age-hardening processes up to l000°c which might be important in the binder phase of the Co-Ti-C and Ni-Ti-Chard metal systems have been studied mainly by high voltage electron microscopy, (HVEM), optical microscopy (OM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) as well as by micro-and macrohardness measurements and tensile testing at room and elevated temperatures (500°-800°). In addition,the allotropic transformation of cobalt has been followed by X-ray diffraction in order to permit a more complete interpretation of the changes in microstructure reflected in the mechanical testing.
