  1. 21. Secondary metabolites associated with plant disease, plant defense and biocontrol : studies of Hymenoscyphus pseudoalbidus, Fraxinus excelsior and Pseudomonas brassicacearum MA250

    Author : Pierre Andersson; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Secondary metabolites of the fungal ash dieback pathogen Hymenoscyphus pseudoalbidus were investigated. Nine steroidal compounds were isolated from, or detected in, liquid cultures of the fungus. Three were the previously known compounds viridiol, viridin and demethoxyviridiol. READ MORE

  2. 22. Spatial patterns in the interaction between Salix triandra and associated parasites

    Author : Lena Niemi; Anders Wennström; Lars Ericson; Keith Clay; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Gonioctena linnaeana; host-parasite interactions; leaf beetle; local adaptation; Melampsora amygdalinae; phenolics; pathogens; plant host; secondary chemistry; Terrestrial ecology; Terrestisk ekologi;

    Abstract : This thesis focuses on mechanisms and processes underlying spatial patterns of resistance and virulence and on local adaptations in plant–parasite interactions. The model system used comprises the plant host Salix triandra, the pathogenic rust fungus Melampsora amygdalinae, the leaf beetle Gonioctena linnaeana, and the galler Pontania triandrae. READ MORE

  3. 23. Bioactive Compounds in the Chemical Defence of Marine Sponges : Structure-Activity Relationships and Pharmacological Targets

    Author : Erik Hedner; Lars Bohlin; Per R Jonsson; Raffaele Riccio; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Pharmacognosy; 5-hydroxytryptamine; agelasine; agelasimine; antibacterial; antifouling; barettin; bromobenzisoxazolone barettin; cytotoxic; marine; secondary metabolite; sponge; Farmakognosi; Agelas; Geodia barretti;

    Abstract : Marine invertebrates, in particular sponges, represent a source of a wide range of secondary metabolites, many of which have been attributed various defensive capabilities against environmental stress factors. In this thesis sponge-derived low-molecular peptide-like compounds and associated analogs are investigated for bioactivity and pharmacological targets. READ MORE

  4. 24. Structure and biosynthesis of fungal secondary metabolites : studies of the root rot pathogen Heterobasidion annosum s.l. and the biocontrol fungus Phlebiopsis gigantea

    Author : David Kälvö; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The root rot pathogen Heterobasidion annosum s.l., i.e. READ MORE

  5. 25. An insight into the metabolism of New Psychoactive Substances : Structural elucidation of urinary metabolites of synthetic cannabinoids and fentanyl analogues using synthesized reference standards

    Author : Jakob Wallgren; Johan Dahlén; Peter Konradsson; Xiongyu Wu; Mogens Johannsen; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : New Psychoactive Substances (NPS) is an umbrella term covering hundreds of substances across different drug groups. Many of these substances were originally developed for therapeutic use but have later appeared on the recreational drug market. READ MORE
