Abstract : This thesis studies the process and products of migratory self-adaptation: the practice of a migrant author recreating their own work in a new medium, and the baggage it brings with itself. Migratory self-adaptation is developed and analyzed in this research through a comparative and processual analysis of two cases of adaptation: Persepolis, a French autobiographical graphic novel written and drawn by Marjane Satrapi, the Franco- Iranian artist and writer, later turned into an animation movie co-written and codirected by Satrapi herself; and The Patience Stone, a novel written in French by Atiq Rahimi, the Franco-Afghan author, which is adapted to a homonymous film in Dari- Persian, co-written and directed by the author. Abstract : The digitalization of manufacturing industry and the profound reliance on interconnected System of Systems (SoS) is demanding for innovative solutions that can handle production processes, while making use of the new data that is being generated by various connected devices. Innovations based on collecting, evaluating, and using this data can improve existing processes and create new business models. READ MORE

  5. 5. Designing Self-Adaptive Software Systems with Reuse

Author : Nadeem Abbas; Jesper Andersson; Linnéuniversitetet; []

Abstract : Modern software systems are increasingly more connected, pervasive, and dynamic, as such, they are subject to more runtime variations than legacy systems. Runtime variations affect system properties, such as performance and availability. The variations are difficult to anticipate and thus mitigate in the system design. READ MORE
