21. Photonic terahertz-wave generation, radiation and quasioptical integration
Abstract : This thesis deals with the uni-travelling-carrier photodiode (UTC-PD) based photonic generation of terahertz waves, antenna designs for the terahertz radiation and a novelcatadioptric lens for quasioptical integration. The ongoing and accomplished research work on the UTC-PD, its limitations and optimisation scopes for attaining higher bandwidth and higher output power have been discussed. 22. Photoelectron Spectroscopy Studies of III-V Semiconductor Systems
Abstract : Photoelectron spectroscopy has been used as a main tool to study a number of III-V semiconductor surfaces. This thesis includes studies of a surface reaction, As/InP(110), thin heteroepitaxial layers, InAs on GaAs(111)A and GaAs on AlAs(100), and a diluted magnetic semiconductor, Ga1-xMnxAs. READ MORE

23. Effects of the Spin-Orbit Interaction on Transport and Optical Properties of III-V Semiconductor Quantum Wells
Abstract : Effects of the intrinsic electron spin-orbit interaction on transport and optical properties of III-V semiconductor quantum wells have been studied theoretically. It is shown that due to crystal anisotropy of this interaction, the weak localization magnetoresistance in a magnetic field parallel to interfaces is very sensitive to the epitaxy growth direction and also to the orientation of the magnetic field with respect to the crystal axes. 24. Semiconductor Hetero- and Nanostructures
Abstract : In this thesis, chemical beam epitaxy was used to fabricate nm-sized crystalline structures. Most of the systems were based on heterostructures, i.e., combinations of different kinds of crystalline materials. READ MORE

25. Nanostructured Semiconductor Materials for Light Manipulation Functions
Abstract : Structuring of semiconductor materials is utilized in many optoelectronic devices, e.g, in order to make them more efficient, cost-effective, and/or to obtain specific wavelength-engineered responses. Semiconductor materials are widely used in optoelectronic devices due to their favorable optical and electric properties. READ MORE
