  1. 6. The art of transcriptome reconstruction : with applications in Picea abies (L.) H. Karst

    Author : Karl Johan Westrin; Olof Emanuelsson; Henric Zazzi; Lukas Käll; Jens Sundström; Jarkko Salojärvi; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; transcriptome reconstruction; transcriptome assembly; transcript isoform detection; Picea abies; acrocona; cone setting; differential expression; gene families; miRNA; quality assessment; transkriptomrekonstruktion; sammansättning av transkriptom; detektering av transkriptisoform; rödgran; kottegran; kottsättning; differentiellt uttryck; genfamiljer; kvalitetsutvärdering; miRNA; Biotechnology; Bioteknologi;

    Abstract : Transcriptome reconstruction is an important component in the bioinformatical part of transcriptome studies. When a reference genome is missing, highly fragmented or incomplete, a de novo transcriptome assembly is the transcriptome reconstruction approach of choice, since in such situations, a simple alignment (or mapping) would not necessarily give all theinformation concerning splice junctions, isoforms or even the full extent of the gene. 2. 7. Pull based production systems : performance, modelling and analysis

    Author : Jan-Arne Pettersen; Jose M. Framinan; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Industriell logistik; Industrial Logistics;

    Abstract : This doctoral thesis addresses performances, modelling and analyses of pull based production systems. The thesis consists of four main parts: a literature review, a comparison study of Kanban and CONWIP, an industrial practical case study, and the development of a new tool used for presentation and analysis of simulated performance results. 3. 8. Focus on Chronic Disease through Different Lenses of Expertise : Towards Implementation of Patient-Focused Decision Support Preventing Disability: The Example of Early Rheumatoid Arthritis

    Author : Örjan Dahlström; Toomas Timpka; Ingrid Thyberg; Ursula Hass; Ingemar Petersson; Linköpings universitet; []

    Abstract : Introduction: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disease. Treatment strategies emphasize early multi-professional interventions to reduce disease activity and to prevent disability, but there is a lack of knowledge on how optimal treatment can be provided to each individual patient. 4. 9. Double-contrast MRI for the staging of rectal carcinoma: Technical aspects and clinical experience

    Author : Nils-Olof Wallengren; Lund Diagnostisk radiologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; radiology; Clinical physics; Double contrast; MR imaging; Preoperative staging; Rectal carcinoma; tomography; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering;

    Abstract : Aim of the study Today´s methods for the staging of rectal carcinoma: ultrasonography with transrectal probe, CT, MRI or MRI with a rectal coil, all have limitations. The aim was therefore to develop a new, double-contrast MRI method for evaluation of rectal carcinoma. READ MORE

  5. 10. Studies of immune responses to cell surface proteins of Helicobacter pylori and Borrelia burgdorferi by enzyme immunoassay and immunoblotting

    Author : Ingrid Nilsson; Avdelningen för medicinsk mikrobiologi; []
