  1. 16. On Medium Access for Wireless Ad-hoc and Sensor Networks

    Author : Arash Tahmasebi Toyserkani; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MAC; Transmission range; Interference range; Taffic Safety; Sensor Networks; TDMA; CSMA;

    Abstract : The medium access control (MAC) is a sub-layer of the data link layer, thesecond layer of the open system interconnection (OSI) model. The MAC sub-layeris responsible for organizing the access to the shared channel and it is due tothis important responsibility that the performance of networks is substantiallyinfluenced by the MAC protocol. 2. 17. Technical Solutions for Internet-based Wireless Sensor Networks in e-Health Applications

    Author : Jonas Wåhslén; Thomas Lind; Mats Björkman; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; e-Health; ambient assisted living; Internet of things; wireless body sensor networks; sports technology; Bluetooth; Wi-Fi; time synchronisation; sensor data fusion; mobile phone sensor communication; device-to-device communication; E-hälsa; Internet of things; trådlösa kroppsnära sensornät; idrottste- knologi; Bluetooth; Wi-Fi; tidssynkronisering; dynamisk mjukvaruuppdatering; Technology and Health; Teknik och hälsa;

    Abstract : E-Health technology has developed rapidly in the last decade. Body-worn sen- sors have developed from an idea to a reality. Today, wireless sensors can perform functions from measuring heartbeats to advanced motion recognition. However, the integration of the various available solutions is still lacking. READ MORE

  3. 18. Wireless video sensor network and its applications in digital zoo

    Author : Johannes Karlsson; Haibo Li; Jerry Eriksson; Oliver Wu Dapeng; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wireless Sensor Networks; Wireless ad-hoc Networks; Digital Zoo; Video Compression; Real-Time Video Communication; Object Tracking; Sensor Fusion; Other electrical engineering; electronics and photonics; Övrig elektroteknik; elektronik och fotonik; signalbehandling; Signal Processing;

    Abstract : Most computing and communicating devices have been personal computers that were connected to Internet through a fixed network connection. It is believed that future communication devices will not be of this type. Instead the intelligence and communication capability will move into various objects that surround us. READ MORE

  4. 19. Polynomial Solvers for Geometric Problems - Applications in Computer Vision and Sensor Networks

    Author : Yubin Kuang; Matematik LTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; polynomial solver; geometric problems; computer vision; sensor networks; symmetry;

    Abstract : Given images of a scene taken by a moving camera or recordings of a moving smart phone playing a song by a microphone array, how hard is it to reconstruct the scene structure or the moving trajectory of the phone? In this thesis, we study and solve several fundamental geometric problems in order to provide solutions to these problems. The key underlying technique for solving such geometric problems is solving systems of polynomial equations. READ MORE
