  1. 1. Theoretical Study on Chemical Structures and Stability of Molecules in Metallic Junctions

    Author : Wei Hu; Yi Luo; Lasse Jensen; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SERS; IETS; Interface; Chemical Stability; Teoretisk kemi och biologi; Theoretical Chemistry and Biology;

    Abstract : In this thesis, we focus on the structural identification of the interface using surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) and inelastic electron tunnelling scattering (IETS). Two different molecular junctions, namely gold/ trans-1,2-bis (4-pyridyl) ethylene/gold junction and gold/4,4'-bipyridine/gold junctions in various conditions were studied and the corresponding configurations were determined. 2. 2. Applications in Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy

    Author : Charlotte Eliasson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SERS; surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy; image analysis; lymphocytes; PCA; doxorubicin; living cells; PLS;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to address specific applications of Raman spectroscopy and specifically surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy, SERS. It includes an introduction to the techniques and several applications. The focus has been on how to achieve high precision SERS measurements, both qualitatively and quantitatively. READ MORE

  3. 3. Multivariate Measurements and Chemical Imaging of Organic Compounds

    Author : Johan Engelbrektsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Image analysis; Spectroscopy; Hyperspectral; Chemical Imaging; PCA; PLS; SERS; Wavelet Transform; Multivariate analysis;

    Abstract : Chemical imaging is an emerging analytical technique, based on the interplay between, most often, spectroscopic measurements and advanced evaluation methodology. With this we can study the distribution of chemical compounds in different compartments, such as individual cells and pharmaceutical tablets. READ MORE

  4. 4. Application of Raman and Fluorescence Spectroscopy to Single Chromatographic Beads

    Author : Mina Larsson; Jan Lindgren; Jean-Claude Lassègues; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry; agarose; chelating group; confocal Raman spectroscopy; confocal scanning laser microscopy; gold nanoparticles; ligand distribution; functional group; neodymium; polymer beads; Raman; SERS; surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy; Kemi; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Abstract : Chromatography is a powerful technique, essential in chemical analyses and preparative separation in industry and research. Many different kinds of chromatographic material are needed, due to the large variety of applications. Detailed methods of characterisation are needed to design new chromatographic materials and understand their properties. READ MORE

  5. 5. Geometrical and Electronic Structures at Molecule-Metal Interfaces from Theoretical Modeling

    Author : Sai Duan; Yi Luo; Axel Groß; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SERS; Electrochemistry; DFT; MD; SRA - Energy; SRA - Energi;

    Abstract : In this thesis, we focus on theoretical investigations on metal interfaces where many heterogeneous chemical reactions take place. Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectroscopy and the modern electrochemical methods are important in-situ techniques that have been widely employed for a variety of applications. READ MORE
