  1. 6. Drug-related problems with special emphasis on drug : Drug interactions

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Karolinska Institutet, Department of Clinical Science and Education, Södersjukhuset

    Author : Buster Mannheimer; Karolinska Institutet.; Karolinska Institutet.; [2009]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to address some aspects of drug related problems with special regard to drug-drug interactions. In paper 1 we aimed to describe the scenario and frequency of drug-related problems (DRPs) in in-patients and to determine whether a pharmacotherapeutic advisory intervention aiming at reducing DRPs could affect rates of re-hospitalisation and / or death within 6 months. 2. 7. Transition metal- and lipase-catalyzed reactions : Dynamic resolutions, hydrogen transfer and enzyme engineering

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Department of Organic Chemistry, Stockholm University

    Author : Patrik Krumlinde; Jan-Erling Bäckvall; Johannes G. de Vries; [2009]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Dynamic kinetic resolution; dynamic kinetic asymmetric transformation; hydrogen transfer; directed evolution; enzyme engineering; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry Organic chemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi Organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry; organisk kemi;

    Abstract : This thesis mainly focuses on chemoenzymatic processes and can be divided into three parts: The first part of the thesis, chapters 2-4, is devoted to the development of combined ruthenium- and enzyme-catalyzed dynamic processes. In these processes the metal catalyst racemizes (epimerizes) the alcohol substrate via hydrogen transfer and the enzyme transforms the substrate into enantiomerically enriched product. READ MORE

  3. 8. Adherence to Antidepressant Medication

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Ann-Charlotte Åkerblad; Lisa Ekselius; Ingvar Krakau; [2007]
    Keywords : Psychiatry; adherence; depression; randomised controlled trial; intervention; therapeutic drug monitoring; personality; health status; health care utilisation; Psykiatri;

    Abstract : Non-adherence to medication is a major obstacle in the treatment of depression. The objectives of the present study were to explore the effect of two interventions aiming to increase antidepressant treatment adherence, and to examine long-term consequences and costs of depression in adherent and non-adherent primary care patients.
