1. Experimental study and simulation of sintering of 316L components produced by binder jetting
Abstract : Binder Jetting (BJT) is a multi-step Additive Manufacturing (AM) technique that is used for producing components with highly complex geometries and competitive final properties with high productivity when compared to other AM technologies. The first step provides the basic part geometric shape (BJT printing), and the next step (debinding and sintering) consolidates the part to reach final geometry and intended basic material properties. 2. Effect of large shear deformation on fatigue crack behavior in pearlitic rail steel
Abstract : The impacts from global warming and climate change continue to rise and securing the needs of future generations requires a transition to a climate-neutral society. Rail transportation, as being one of the safest and most energy efficient modes of transportation offers a sustainable alternative to fossil-fueled based transportation. READ MORE

3. Nuclear magnetic resonance studies of water self-diffusion in porous systems
Abstract : Proton nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) was used to study the self-diffusion of water in porous systems that respond to a change in water content in order to elucidate the porous structure and the properties of the confined water. In the carbohydrate systems cellulose fibers and starch granules, water is free to move throughout the porous objects, albeit with a rate reduced from the value of the bulk liquid, The reduction is related to the tortuosity of the pore space filled by water. 4. From experiments with images to 3D models
Abstract : For developing the next generation sustainable materials, it is often crucial to understand and control their properties and function. This work presents cross-disciplinary research starting with experimentally fabricated porous soft biomaterials and images of their micro-structure obtained by electron or laser microscopy. READ MORE

5. Pushing diffusion MRI towards new dimensions
Abstract : Diffusion-MRI techniques allow the non-invasive investigation of microstructural changes in living tissues. However, a detailed interpretation of the data is complicated by the fact that multiple microscopic environments with varying diffusion properties all contribute to the measured signal. READ MORE
