1. Diurnal variation of stratospheric short-lived species
Abstract : Diurnal variation of stratospheric short-lived speciesMaryam KhosraviChalmers University of TechnologyDepartment of Earth and Space SciencesAbstractThe depletion of ozone in the stratosphere has a direct impact on the amount of ultravioletradiation reaching the Earth’s surface. The ozone abundance and distributionis controlled by the photo-chemical reactions and catalytic cycles involving halogens(chlorine and bromine), odd hydrogen and odd nitrogen species as well as by atmospherictransport. 2. Comparing Climate Forcers on a Common Scale
Abstract : The climate is changing at a rapid pace. Through the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the world has agreed to hold the on-going temperature increase below 2 °C. Climate change is caused by emissions of different atmospheric species (climate forcers). READ MORE

3. Targeting NOX2 in cancer
Abstract : Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are short-lived, toxic derivatives of oxygen that are produced during mitochondrial respiration and by NADPH oxidases (NOX). By enzymatically generating ROS, the myeloid cell NOX2 plays a critical role in defense against bacteria and other microorganisms. READ MORE

4. Redox reactions in cancer: impact and regulation
Abstract : The reduction-oxidation (redox) reaction involves a change in the oxidation state of molecules where a molecule that donates an electron is oxidized and a molecule that accepts an electron is reduced. The NADPH oxidase of myeloid cells, NOX2, is a major source of oxidants in the form of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which are short-lived oxygen derivatives. READ MORE

5. The significance of sexuality and cyst formation in the life-cycles of four marine dinoflagellate species
Abstract : Sexuality and cyst formation were studied in the marine dinoflagellate species Gymnodinium catenatum Graham, Gymnodinium nolleri Ellegaard ? Moestrup, Alexandrium catenella (Whedon et Kofoid) Balech, and Lingulodinium polyedrum (Stein) Dodge. The study included the morphological characterization of sexual stages and processes, the time and description of meiosis, the study of the length and regulation of the mandatory dormancy period of resting cysts, and the relationships among parental strains and cyst progeny at phenotypic and molecular levels.
