  1. 1. Constitutive modelling of an additively manufactured alloy for fatigue lifing in high temperature applications

    Author : Thomas Lindström; Daniel Leidermark; Håkan Hallberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : The main objective of the work presented in this Licentiate thesis is to investigate and model the cyclic behaviour of an additively manufactured ductile nickel-based superalloy, with special emphasis on modelling the stabilised material behaviour, which is of interest for fatigue life predictions. Cyclic fatigue tests at different temperatures have been performed to investigate the cyclic mechanical behaviour of the material, where specimens built in different orientations have been used to also study the anisotropic behaviour of the material. 2. 2. Modelling of TMF Crack Growth in Polycrystalline Gas Turbine Alloys : Accounting for Crack Closure Effects

    Author : Jordi Loureiro-Homs; Kjell Simonsson; Robert Eriksson; Daniel Leidermark; Tomas Månsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : The main objective of the work presented in this Licentiate of Engineering thesis is to investigate and model the fatigue crack propagation behaviour of the nickel-based superalloy Inconel 792, with special attention to the industrial lifing of high-temperature components. In-phase (IP) crack propagation tests have been performed at different temperatures and loading regimes, including extended hold times. READ MORE

  3. 3. Friction in elasto hydrodynamically lubricated contacts : the influence of speed and slide to roll ratio

    Author : Marcus Björling; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Maskinelement; Machine Elements;

    Abstract : Reducing losses in transmissions has become a high priority in the automotive market during recent years, mainly due to environmental concerns leading to regulations placed on the automotive industry to drive the development of vehicles with lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Rising fuel prices and increasing environmental concerns have also made customers more prone to purchase more fuel efficient vehicles. READ MORE

  4. 4. Six Sigma management. Action research with some contributions to theories and methods

    Author : Peter Cronemyr; Bo Bergman; Bjarne Bergquist; Chalmers University of Technology; []

    Abstract : Many companies around the world have implemented Six Sigma as a problem solving methodology especially useful for dealing with recurring problems in business processes. Since the 1980s when it was developed at Motorola, many companies have tried to implement Six Sigma to fit their own company’s culture and goals. READ MORE

  5. 5. A Method for Customer-driven Purchasing : Aligning Supplier interaction and Customer-driven manufacturing

    Author : Jenny Bäckstrand; Joakim Wikner; Eva Johansson; Martin Rudberg; Högskolan i Jönköping; []
    Keywords : Customer‐driven purchasing; Supplier interaction; Customer‐driven manufacturing; Purchasing; Supply chain management;

    Abstract : The role of a purchaser has traditionally focused on acquiring standard items at the lowest possible cost. The ability to reduce unit cost has been the key performance indicator for purchasers. Most traditional purchasing strategies thus focus on optimizing this situation, focusing on the supplier interface only and not on customer value. READ MORE
