1. Lewis Acid Mediated [2,3]-Sigmatropic Rearrangement of Allylic Ammonium Ylides
Abstract : This thesis describes a Lewis acid mediated[2,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement of various allylic ammoniumylides. Several Lewis acids are investigated and BBr3 and BF3are established to be the Lewis acids providing the highestconversion of the starting allylic amines. READ MORE

2. Asymmetric [2,3]-Sigmatropic Rearrangement of Allylic Ammonium Ylides
Abstract : The thesis describes the realization of an asymmetric [2,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement of achiral allylic amines. It is divided into two parts; the first part deals with the development of a Lewis acid-mediated [2,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement and the second the asymmetric version thereof. READ MORE

3. Synthesis and [3,3]-Sigmatropic Rearrangement of Vinylaziridines
Abstract : A general synthetic route from vinylepoxides to vinylaziridines via 1,2-amino alcohols was developed. The 1,2-amino alcohols were obtained from a stereospecific and regioselective aminolysis of vinylepoxides. The synthetic scope of the aminolysis could be expanded by the use of a microwave-assisted protocol. READ MORE

4. Metal‐Free Arylations of Oxygen and Nitrogen Nucleophiles : Applications of Diaryliodonium Salts
Abstract : This thesis concerns development of new methods for metal‐free arylations in organic synthesis. The protocols discussed in the thesis are based on a class of hypervalent iodine compounds called diaryliodonium salts. These reagents are known to transfer aryl moieties to suitable nucleophiles. 5. New synthetic routes to azaspiro alkaloids : Applications to the synthesis perhydrohistrionicotoxin
Abstract : Perhydrohistrionicotoxin, 1, is related to a family of alkaloids which display pharmacologically interesting properties. The thesis deals with development of new methods for the chemical synthesis of such alkaloids, and is divided into three parts according to the different approaches. READ MORE
