16. Dislocations in silicon
Abstract : The topic of this thesis is theoretical studies of the electrical and structural properties in the elemental semiconductor silicon. Because of the numerous and powerful applications of semiconductors, e.g., rectifiers, transistors, solar cells and lasers, they have been the focus of huge amounts of research. READ MORE

17. Silicon Nanopore Arrays : Fabrication and Applications for DNA Sensing
Abstract : Nanopore biomolecule sensing and sequencing has emerged as a simple but powerful tool for single molecule studies over the past two decades. By elec- trophoretically driving single molecules through a nanometer-sized pore, often sitting in an insulating membrane that separates two buffer solutions, ionic current blockades can be detected to reveal rich information of the molecules, such as DNA length, protein size and conformation, even nucleic acid se- quence. 18. A flexible resonance sensor system for detection of cancer tissue : evaluation on silicon
Abstract : The most common form of cancer among men in Europe and the US is prostate cancer. When a radical prostatectomy has been found necessary, it is of interest to examine the prostate, as tumour tissue on the capsule might indicate that the cancer has metastased. This is commonly done by a microscope-based morphometric investigation. READ MORE

19. Electronic Structure of Transition Metal Complexes in Silicon
Abstract : This thesis consists of experimental studies of the electronic of electronic structure of the transition metals Au and Pt, and the transition metal complexes, FeIn, PtLi, and AuLi in silicon. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, photoconductivity, uniaxial stress- and Zeeman spectroscopy are employed. READ MORE
